Dorchester (h) - 6th October

Think it will be a tough game tonight. Dorchester had a very good comeback win on Saturday at Chesham, but hopefully the win will have lifted our boys confidence a bit. A nice early goal to us and a battling performance like we did against Cirencester and we might be able to nick something. Here's hoping.

COYR!

Wow what a result! So annoyed I missed it as I was going but a last minute issue meant I couldn't. Anyway enough of my moaning sounds like we dominated large parts of the game and played some exciting stuff. What did you anyone of you make ot the two loanees and Strutton? So two wins on the bounce has got to breed some confidence now, let's hope we extend it for a while yet, well done Rebels!

The loanees were awesome! Paul stonehouse even got man of the match! But I gotta say the whole of the team were great! Warren Harris looked to have his spark back and was crossing some cracking balls! Great goals and mark Scott made some great saves so glad I didn't miss this one!

Without question the performance of the season so far. Every player to a man gave 100% effort and that effort and ability paid off in spades with 4 goals and a cracking result.

As a starting point of a squad rebuild, full credit has to go to Neil and Jon for their response to the poor start to the season as the players they have found thus far (all be it on loan) have been excellent additions.

Hopefully after an average performance on Saturday but a good result and top draw performance and result tonight we can kick on even further and be ready to go again on Saturday against Histon.

Great result and performance against a very good Dorchester side.

We dominated most of the first half and deserved our lead. We then came out fairly strong second half and got our third goal. After that Dorchester dominated the possession but for most of the time they were playing between there back 4/5 and when they did push forward we did well to close them down and win the ball back.

We played some really good football, playing the ball on the floor to feet. I don't remember us once hoofing the ball up field other than for obvious clearances.

Every player had a good game tonight including Mark Scott who made some good saves to limit Dorchester to just one goal. We missed a few good chances but for the most part we showed some good finishes to get the four goals. Charlie Mpi ran his socks of tonight and deserved his goal which summed up his performance tonight. He cut out a pass and ran past there Dorchester defender and Gokmen in a foot race to then take the ball round the keeper and score his goal.

Both of the loanee signings played very well. Stonehouse looks to be a very good left back being able to play with both feet meaning when he brings the ball forward he can go down the line to cross with his left or cut inside a pass/shoot with his right giving us another attacking option. Benjamin looked to be a solid and calm midfielder not panicking and finding the right pass to the open player to keep possession.

Very hard to pick a MotM but my choice might be controversial as even though we played very well I would still git it to Dorchester's number 7 Davis who ran the show for them and prevented us having complete control of the game and stopped plenty of our attacking plays.

Best performance of 2015.

Dorchester are no mugs and we made them look ordinary.

Quality from all those in amber and blue tonight, and some very interesting new talent.

Charlie Mpi just gets better and better.

Also looks like there was a better understanding all over the pitch to get the ball moving from player to player, with players knowing who was making runs and delivering to them.

You could also see the players were enjoying playing like this and it generated more energy for them.

Just shows that we can play well and get the results it's that consistency that all teams strive for is the key. Strange if the loanees from Oxford City won't be training with us as that'll complicate things but I guess we don't have much choice as its their players.

The hardest thing is to know where to start after a performance like that!

Have to say the starting line-up raised a few eyebrows, including myself, but proved to be spot on.

We took a few minutes to settle down in the first half when Dorchester had a couple of long range efforts that went just wide but after that it was, without doubt, the best 45 minutes of football we've played this season.

Not only was our work-rate and commitment second to none, we also played some excellent pass and move football that made a good Dorchester side look ordinary.

Second half it was inevitable that our work-rate would drop a bit and this allowed Dorchester to come more into the game but in the end we ran out impressive winners against a team that no doubt will be pushing for a play-off spot.

Excellent performances from every player tonight including top draw debuts from Paul Stonehouse and Declan Benjamin.

Almost impossible to single out a player for MOTM but if there has to be one I'd give the shout to Charlie Mpi for his overall play and incredible lung bursting work-rate.

COYR!!!
