MyFC have run out of cash it seems as they were paying for it. Down to around 280 members now (myself included) not sure how much longer they can operate at these numbers?

When I left (23rd Sep) there was 277 members, and falling.  They have around £9k but it's all in different holdings (ringfenced) which are keeping hold of it (in their words) "for future projects".

I only joined so to see the highlights and as said myfc are not doing them all just when the away golden goal brings in enough (so not touching the £9k). If these 2 things changed I would think about going back.

BUT,

They are short on the ground and need help there is only a few trying to keep myfc afloat, these few are good people and doing as much as they can. It need a major overhaul as things like running cost are way to high.

They need someone (like we have Steve) to go in there and give it a good shake up and stability.

BUT AGAIN.

They are as on here (with 1 or 2 exceptions) 100% behind Slough

Yes, unfortunately as a professional cameraman I can't film the games voluntarily as I need to pay the bills.

I can film the game tonight if another sponsor is willing to take over from MyFC in paying me the £120 per match for the service I have been providing for the last two seasons, but it will have to be sorted out before 4.00.p.m. at the very latest. Steve Easterbrook is aware of the situation.

Using media students to film matches voluntarily is an option which a lot of clubs at this level use, but then you will need to be patient while they learn how to do it. Not just the filming, but the editing as well. Believe me, it's not easy...and they will need to be committed.

To anybody that knows, would it be possible to sponsor a player in the programme and spread the cost with/for the cameraman for next season, or wouldn't this be viable for the club funds?

As I said, we're trying to come up with a way of funding the filming that doesn't involve using Club or Trust fund as a primary source. As good as Laurence's work is, it's a lot of money over 25 games per season, so we're looking into alternatives.

If anyone knows of a company that would be willing to sponsor the filming, then please let us know.

Well, ER, what I was trying to get at, was say a fan steps forward and offer's say a full kit sponsorship for the programme. Couldn't the fee for what is effectively one line in the programme be shared with the cameraman  duties. That way the cameraman gets his fee for filming one home match and say for arguments sake, £120-filming + £30 for sponsorship, thus lowering the costs of sponsoring a player in the programme but getting the valuable job of the filming done by the supporters and helping our management at the same time.

I know it sounds a bit like robbing Peter to pay Paul but it would be a compromise and a solution at the same time.

Apologies if this is unfeasible, it's just an idea off the top of my head !

What do you mean?

What about collating a list of supporters who would be willing to chip in a few quid to pay for the games to be filmed.

For their money they would get the full match highlights.

The more people chip in the cheaper it will be.

Can't see that working RR, as you wouldn't be guaranteed the money. What happens if there's a shortfall, who picks up the tab?

When the new ground gets developed, company sponsorship will hopefully be a lot more forthcoming, than we've seen for many a year but until such times, we have to cut our cloth accordingly, I presume, and need to come up with ingenious ideas to solve these type of matters.

Perhaps filming games currently, is just a step too far, given the status of the club and the support we've got.

I mean we are only a step 3 side. MyFC have spoilt us somewhat, in this regard.

What do you mean?

At present the club get £120 for a player sponsorship the person yes gets the bit in the programme, but also the signed shirt at the end of the season as you know, as you've done it.

the way you're saying the club would get £0 + a bill for the signed shirt.

To take actual amounts out of it, he is talking about a percentage of the full amount handed over, not the full amount.

AND using his figures, his theorisation was 120/150 = 80%

SO, using your figure of £120, 80% comes in at £96.

However, as it was only a suggestion in the first place all this is just theory

Ok using them figures £120/£150,  £120 filming £30 club (not sure on the figures but not far out) less Shirt cost ie £38 + Printing = £0 to club + shirt costs. As I said.

To make the figures add up so the club gets about what they get now it'll have to be £200+

As I said, it is all Theorisation, as its was just an idea put forward

80% was just the percentage that was in the original idea.

IF the idea is taken forward as an actual thing we do, it might end up at say 30% or 40%.

That is IF
