Bideford home match

Finally, finally, finally, we took a couple of chances and get 3 massive points.

Not sure the performance was all that and my Dad, who went to Leamington said we played way better on Tuesday but as always it's the results that count.

Bideford lost all their discipline at the end and the tackle from the little scumbag number 2 was a terrible one and rightly saw red for it. The number 6 was just an idiot after being booked and then mouthing at the ref. A poor Bideford side and rightly we got the 3 points.

Hopefully this win will give us some confidence and we can now create a few more chances than today and with that confidence score some more starting with Tuesday night.

Yes 3 vital points  frankly we were the best of two teams that were poor at times  and it could have gone either way  but we seem to be getting the run of the ball and a bit of luck for a change  Other results today mean we stay 20th  but there is now a 4 point gap between us and the relegation quartet.

Not there but so relieved we won, followed it on Twitter and was hoping we might take advantage after they went down to 10, then 9 players. But let's not be greedy a win is what we all wanted and let's hope we can build upon this. How did Strutton play? I'm guessing he's going to need a game or two to get upto speed.

Two good goals from Charlie today just when it looked like we would not be able to score again.

From my viewpoint, I thought that it should have been a penalty for Bideford late in the second half. No excuse though for their no.6 to get himself sent off though and the tackle by their no.2 on Mark Scott has to be one of the worst I have seen for many seasons  - and I remember watching Tony Dell play!!

A lot more work to be done still but it is good to enjoy 3 points today.

GlenSTFC - Strutton was fairly non-existant for much of the game. Put himself about a bit and made a couple of good chases for the ball, but looked like a player that hadn't played for a while. If he plays Tuesday hopefully today's run will help.

I thought we were extremely fortunate to win the game,as for most part we looked lethargic and not at all confident in our abilty to get anything from the game. The first half was truly dreadful and the way we had played to the midway point, we deserved to be behind at half time.

In the second half we improved [which isn't saying a lot] and there was visible relief off the shoulders of the Slough players, when Charlie Mpi got his two goals. What was annoying was that our players started wanting the ball now they were leading, when most were hiding before the Slough had scored.

For me Adrian Sear was our man of the match. He was the only midfielder who was willing to put his body on the line and make a tackle. What is worrying is that Slough are lacking characters to dig in and battle for everything, when they are up against it. Too many are talking the talk without walking the walk.

Thankfully Charlie Mpi still knows where the net is and he rescued the three points for us, when we really hadn't created anything good, in terms of enterprising passing football.

We've got to be better in games coming up, than this sub standard performance, otherwise relegation looks likely.

Many of the previous issues still in evidence and the managers do not us lot to tell them what these are..............but I felt we battled quite well second half and just about deserved those vital 3 points. Charlie Mpi did what he was bought in to do mainly because he was in the middle rather than chasing down the left wing like before. Liked Adam  Nditi who got really involved tho maybe he was a bit too adventurous at times. The other Charlie was largely anonymous but maybe more game time will help him and us generally.

MOTM in my mind was Mpi for the richly needed goals , just shading it over Sear who was happy to put his body wherever necessary..........no wonder he picks up knocks. Another good point was Macca continually shouting and cajoling which is probably very important at present as encouragement is vital when a team is struggling.

If we can find the same amount of effort on Tuesday as in todays second half we will have a chance against that top five side...........but the necessary improvements do need to be made.

Well after leaving Swindon at 12 and spending over 4 hours on the M4 due to major accident and seeing only the last 8 minutes so don.t care how well or bad we played but it allows me to say in eight words.

Well done Three Points Come on the Rebels

Some very poor refereeing today, with bad decisions going for and against us. Start of the second half the ref somehow deciding to ignore the obvious advantage of Charlie Mpi running through on goal one on one and deciding to blow up for a foul. Second obvious bad decision was Bideford should have had a penalty when Hollis Tripped Squire in the box, the referee ignores it and Gerring ends up getting a second yellow and is sent off.

Won't say much about how we played just that it wasn't a good performance but we got a very important 3 points.

Short on quality but the team did what we hoped for, get a win.

We still looked fragile at the back and had our keeper to thank for us only being 1 behind at half time.

We still need to attack quicker rather than always going back but that's easier said than done when we scrapping for points.

Just wanted to make a mention for the match officials, don't usually agree with them but today I thought they did well, not faultless but when made mistakes offered apology straight away, plus lino was funny.

It was a struggle but in the end, in games like these, 3 points is all that matters.

Seems we played 4-3-3 and to be honest I don't think we've got the legs or mobility to play that system with our midfield struggling to get any sort of grip on the game.

Hate to be critical on the lad because he is young and did us a big favour today but for me Adam Nditi is not a full back.

Also thought that Charlie Strutton was way off the pace and for me it looked like his fitness levels was equivalent to him coming back from his summer holidays.

I thought Ryan Hope was probably our best player for large parts of the game but with him seemingly given a free roll and often drifting out wide we looked out- numbered in central midfield.

Very pleased with the 3 points but a lot of improvement needed if we are to take something from Tuesday's game.

Points or performance?

I'll take the points today, when we are comfortably mid table with no relegation worries I might have a moan about performances.

Trouble is, Curtis, if performances don't pick up, we will find it hard to pick up any points. Today we got lucky.

Against better teams we'll get punished.
