Squad changes

Don't necessarily disagree with that 3spirit, however I subscribe more to the "form is temporary, class is forever" side of things. I would like to see more from Adam Martin and I think he hasn't start the season that well, however, I would have him playing more box to box as opposed to the holding midfield roll. He 100% has the ability to perform for this side, need to start proving it quickly though.

Agree about Adrian Sear, needs to prove he can be fit enough to put a run of games in the side in.

Players let go before the replacements are in (and that is hoping the targeted players sign up) - are there 11 fit for Tuesday?

Mcclurg has left but its not like he has been left without a replacement in. I seem to remember our new signing coming on yesterday who plays the same position predominately by the name of Ryan Hope.

the others haven't featured for weeks and as the statement says making changes can't be done just like that. players need to be available and 7 days approaches etc don't allow it to be an instant process

saying that I don't think we need drastic changes to improve things

If fit I would like to see Searsy as a holding player and as far as I can gather Ryan Hope is a 'box to box' player.

Adam Martin definitely has the ability but has to apply himself and I would question his mobility and work rate to become a box to box player.

SF, can appreciate the box to box comment on Adam Martin. Under Steve Bateman, in his first stint at the club, he was excellent getting forward and having a shot.

In his second stint under SB ,he had slowed slightly but still worked hard enough and was an asset to the team.

Under Bakes and Unders, I'm not sure what his orders are when out on the pitch but as a hustle and bustle/energy driven/tackling mobile midfielder for me he just doesn't do enough, to be regarded as such a special player now.

My observation isn't actually about Adam Martin's nous as a footballer, as you can see plainly that in many teams he could be a shining light.

But currently, we are a struggling team, that needs players to front up and face the fire, not look to go through the motions and hide from it.

Only 5 from the 16 who were on the winning team sheet against Kettering are now left,(yes, Eddie was suspended).

Have too many from this magic (Godalming) team now gone?

This is one factor that bringing lots of players in, doesn't solve. I believe you should always have a nucleus/bedrock of at least 4-5 players, who are loyal to the managers or the club , to build around.

Now ours are Guy Hollis, Warren Harris, Scott Harris, Ed Smith, Sean Fraser and possibly Jake Parsons, depending on what he thinks about his brother's departure.

Having said that, perhaps it's a good move too, to add Dan Hicks and Charlie Mpi, who are both local blokes and have played for the club before but who knows with loyalty these days ! [ says the grumpy old git] ha ha !

Sad to see Clurgy go, he is a top bloke and of course scored the winner in that great game up at Kettering that got us in the league. I can't dispute the fact he hasn't found his best form in this season and last though. Best of luck to him and Ben Edwards, who was probably our best central midfielder last season.

Redwine Rebel, Calm down, dear ! [ as Michael Winner would say].

I'm flattered that you're fixating on me and Slough Flyer but I'm sure there's plenty of others who's posted on here today, so I don't know why we're being singled out. :)

Interesting reading.

Clearly there are a few issues . I am sure they are not being; but the Manager's must not be driven by the forum into making changes. They will I am sure make the necessary changes based on their knowledge of the players which may or may not please everyone.

Players i am sure will also read the forum and just like ourselves will become despondent at the results. Let's make sure that by singling peoplp eout they too do not walk away when it may be the managers wish to retain them.

Somehow the team needs to gel together and the spirit of the promotion season return.

Difficult times but the team i suspect will come through this with the support of the fans

I'm sure that when the players read forums they will just laugh at it (that goes for any forum for any team)

You always get people on there that want to say good things about players and managers.

You always get people on there that want to say bad things about players

You always get these people arguing at each other stating that the other is driving the club down or kissing up to management

You always get people that see both the good and the bad.

You always get the odd person who just comes on to attack, and not debate.

This happens on every forum for every football team from top to bottom.

That's life, as in the fact that 5 people standing side by side at a game will see 5 different games in front of them

Hammer rebel - wouldn't know 3spirit if I walked into him/her and in fact they were the first person to call out my post about the team. The good thing is that we have managed to have a decent exchange of ideas and thoughts and whilst we may not agree about the individual players in question, we both have had a good say about it. Surely the point of a forum no?

Khan - if any player walked away from the club solely based on what anyone or a group of people said on a forum, then they aren't the right players in the first place. Horsham Rebel I'm sure has it spot on in regards to the players reactions to the forum. It's a good place to debate and discuss everything and hopefully after a few changes the tide will turn non the result front and things can be much more positive.

Horsham post is the most sense I have heard that I couldn't disagree with any of for a long time.

I have to say any player walking away from a club due to negative forum is a joke! Bakes and Unders played for some decent clubs I'm sure they had forums still back in the day, don't tell me they were not negative, Farnborough fans are notorious.

Everyone wants slough to win, that's the common theme for all, some are glass half empty others are glass half full! Everyone has entitle to their opinion whether they are mr or mrs popular at a match day or a more reserved quieter person at football.

I can assure you that the last thing we do when making changes (and please don't take this the wrong way) is listen to fans view on here. You all disagree with each other anyway so how would we please everyone!

A difficult period for us as managers and for the players but we will get it right.

As there are only about 300 at the end of each home game, would it not be quicker if the management lined up the players as they came off the pitch and we have a show of hands as to who goes next.

Stop winging everyone, we are not Man Utd or Arsenal, we play in the lower leagues where the players have other lives as well as football.
