Season so far

Not sure you are watching the same team as me then Brighton. We have only scored more than 1 goal in 2 games, Histon and Basingstoke, our defence is poor, our midfield is non-existant and our strike force are struggling to even generate a shot on target (65th minute against Redditch as an example). Unless there are some major changes to the squad Slough will start next season in the league below.

In the 1st half this season we've scored 7 goals of which 5 were against Histon but conceded 9 goals in the first 15 mins of the 1st half.

In the 2nd half we've scored 7 goals out of 10 in the last 15 mins of a game but have conceded 5 in the first 15 of 2nd half. Half the goals we've let in in total have come in 1st 15 mins of either half and in that time only scored 3.

The team talks seem to be doing the trick then!!!

OK, they are the actuals,

Looking at the games we have now played, how many points would YOU have us on now, if you were guessing before the season started.

I had us on 16 after today when I looked at the fixtures blind, and we actually have 12.

Gary, the general consensus is to avoid relegation you should be looking at 1.0 points per game giving a season total of 46 to be safe - last season as there were only 23 teams at the end of the season Frome avoided relegation with 41 points - a rate of 0.93.

To be in the play offs you need between 1.8 to 2.0 points per game to get you around the 82-92 point mark and to win the league about 2.1 - 96 points.

We got 51 points last year for 16th at a rate of 1.16 points per game.

I would hope we should be looking for around 1.3+ points per game to give us 60 points which last season would have put us 13-14th (57 points last year due to only 44 games).

However I don't count my chickens until they hatch, so saying how many points we are going to get before a game is foolish - just ask Mourinho and the Southampton result! That is why I stick to what is on the board and the stats in the post above are facts and not speculation.
