Is SSMFL.org still the "official" league website? There seem to have been news items added this season so I assume it is still live.

If so, they've still only got a link to the 2014/5 handbook which states 30 mins of extra time.

A get out of jail free card for the match officials?

Er, no.

Because the league are covering all expenses that means all of the clubs are subsiding that game. Seems hardly fair for a referee cock up. Surely the result should have stood and referee and both clubs charged. No excuses really by anyone involved.

The costs are coved by the league so indirectly the clubs will be paying for a referee and club cock up. If we get the paperwork wrong we get charged with an offence and fined. So what happens here with the referee and clubs not knowing the rules of the competition. They should cover the costs and the referee should not get paid.

It would make sense for the three 'previous' officials to forfeit their fees, to pay those appointed to the re-arranged game.

One way for sure to make referees to leave the game.  Yes, officials should know the rules of the competition, but that includes the teams too..

But it's these three referees who played the extra-time, whereas all others got it right - even if one or two AR's had to convince the odd 'man in the middle'.
