The SSML screwed up here by providing officials who didn't know the rules of the competition so why do we have to replay at a neutral ground and give gate money to some other club?

A bit harsh - both clubs are also guilty after all both clubs were at the AGM when the rules were changed

The league didn't screw up the officials did. Pretty sure you would be the other way round if you had been on the receiving end, especially judging by your rant about London Colney, which you've gone very quiet about.

Munch, the league provides officials and should inform them of the rules prior to the game.

It's not up to match secretaries to agree rules due to the incompetence of the officials provided by the league.

I have nothing more to add about the London Colney incident as we acted properly in both games regarding paperwork and compliance.

Indeed Karen, but club secretaries don't enforce the rules of the game, the officials do.

Why is this game to be played at a neutral ground and any idea when it'll be taking place?

Maybe you should go back a couple of pages and read Pete the Greeks comments that officials were notified pre season.

You're right it's not up to match secretaries to agree rules, but it is up to the clubs to make sure those involved are aware of the rules for a competition. The overall blame lies with the 3 match officials, but neither club are blameless for not being aware of the competition rules.

For our reserve challenge trophy game yesterday v Pitstone, when the ref arrived, the first thing I did was check with him whether we can still use 5 subs in the cup and also whether it was extra time or straight to pens. I had already done my homework with league officials and knee the correct answers but I wanted to make sure the ref was aware too. Fortunately, he was.

It's called due diligence.

And there was me thinking it was your reserve team secretary that spoke to me on the telephone regarding the substitution ruling

And there was you also thinking you are the only officer of the league!! More than one way to skin a cat!! My "email" went in on Wednesday and was answered on Thursday morning.

So that's the assistant manager AND the secretary that made checks. I'd call that efficient. Well done us.

To be honest with the club currently having the winner of the Best Secretary in the League I would expect nothing less than efficiency from the people at the well run Hoddesdon Town FC

Nobody comes out of this in a positive light.

All match officials and Clubs were informed in the summer of the Rule change.

Is the original game now classed as void?

If so, someone explain the Governance surrounding it. :-)

The representative that went to the AGM was in hospital on the night of the game so a stand in had to be found who wasn't present at the AGM when the rule was changed but I would have expected the officials to be aware before arriving at a game.

I understand that this game is now void, the goals are chalked off but the cards issued still count.

Another thing I can't understand . . .

Cards will count in the same way if the game was abandoned.

If a game is a nominated game for suspension and is postponed or abandoned then it cannot count.

What happens if it is void?

The game has incorrectly been completed.

One for the FA.

Do not be surprised if the match officials end up facing a charge.

The only ones who cannot be blamed is the Management Committee of the Competition.
