Ryan Parsons

What I don't understand is if Ryan needs a couple of weeks to think/get his head right why can't he take that break whilst with us instead of leaving?

My thoughts also. The timing seems really bizarre immediately after a match  Seems like a knee jerk reaction to something not a considered action

I've got to agree with the previous two comments...... it appears very strange that a player who has started in just about very match this season, and has been at the club for 18 months, leaves with immediate effect in a phone call after the team was had a bad away performance.

Makes even less sense considering the next round of the FA Cup next Saturday.

Going by what Bakes said on ' the looking back at Bedworth' piece ' , sounds like there's been some heated words spoken to Ryan about his performances.

I would imagine, he's not the only one, to have been spoken to.

Which given our team performances so far this season is completely understandable !

I think Ryan is somewhat unlucky and almost a victim of his own success. Last season he was one of our best players and top performed regularly and this in turn made him, a definite starter in the first eleven.

This season he has been out of sorts to his high standards, and it appears he's also been hampered by a knee injury.

My point of view is that the management and Ryan are being hasty, with Bakes and Unders letting him leave, and with Ryan's over the top reaction in wanting to leave.

I'm not saying we can't find as good or if not better left back to come in now [perhaps they've one in mind?] but I feel we should have been looking out for nippier/robust  wing back type for the left side anyway, as the left side hasn't been functioning well for sometime.

The new player could then have helped Ryan out, either by playing in front of him, or as cover in the left back position.

No players are irreplaceable, and all have shaky spells at one time or another, but Ryan for me is a loss, and he wouldn't have been one that I would have looked to shift out, currently, regardless of his form.

With the current trend for returning players, such as Charlie Mpi and Dan Hicks, can we expect the signing of Dominic Rhone to replace Ryan...... seems he is doing well at Burnham,

Doubt this will happen.

Bakes and Unders would have had a good look at him when we lost to Burnham a few weeks ago, he wasn't great and he feigned injury several times. Not the type of player we want.

When Dominic Rhone was at Slough, he never really lived up to expectations and then got injured. He didn't to me, seem up to the top standard of the better teams in the Central division as a left back.

Ironically, though, if Ryan Parsons had stayed and we needed a cheap option and a squad player to play in front of Ryan, as a left footed pacey but strong player, who has defensive attributes as well as attacking ones, Dominic Rhone may have been worth a gamble on, being that he is that bit older, the size of the player and we wouldn't necessarily have to play him every game, plus Bakes and Unders may be able to raise his knowledge of defending thus improving him.

IMO there's no way he'd be good enough as a left back and Ryan Parson's replacement in this strong Premier division.

By the way, Staines Rebel Jnr, I thought Dominic Rhone was poop for Burnham against us, too !

Has the statement been released?

(I'm hoping it'll say that he has decided to return home to Stag Meadow...) ;)

Not wanting to deflate you, Rother but I really can't see him playing at Windsor. Wouldn't think he will be short of offers.
