Oxhey Jets Management - Who's next?

Recommended Posts

If the rumour mill turns out to be true, the big question is... Who is going to take on the poisoned chalice? Here are just some of the names being bandied about (and some odds for an element of fun).

Tony Moore 2/1 - A real 'Mr Popular" with the players, fans and staff in his time there as coach. The sole reason behind Jets' best ever season in ssml.

Danny Tilbury 4/1 - After a short, but successful un-beaten stint a couple of seasons ago, he could well be drafted back in now his family has settled.

Warren Gladdy 4/1 - Brother of former manager Wayne. A teacher by trade with natural authority. Has been working wonders with the youth team and could do the same for the 1st team.

Melvin McCormack 4/1- Known as "the father of South Oxhey Football". He's been the driving force behind producing some of South Oxhey's finest talents. If there's one man who can get players from South Oxhey turning up to every game and playing for the area, it's him.

Luke Beardsworth 6/1 - Understandably the Golden Boy of the club. With the board showing a liking for a player-manager, could he be next in line?

Chris Campbell 10/1 - Always the Bridesmaid. Oxhey Jets could be his chance to become the bride and banish his reputation as a 'number 2'. But would they hire a man from their fierce local rivals?

Gavin Hart 40/1 - After gaining all his coaching badges whilst playing with the Jets, he looked a dead cert to be next in line. But following a blazing row with the board, the bad-boy of non-league left the club. An outside chance if the relationship has been patched up over the last few years.

Has this been confirmed? Where do you get this info?

Chrissy would never go there!!! I'm calling him now for a quick clear the air chat.

I'll sneak a tenner on the brother taking the reins though!

Nothing confirmed, but the number of times I heard it, and the people it came from, I'd say 99% unless there's a last-minute u-turn.

I tell you, I was walking down Prestwick Road today and it's all I heard. Into the Fisherman's cabin for my lunch and it's blah blah wayne's quit this, blah blah wayne's left that. Then onto McColls to get the paper and someone's saying how he had a row with the players after the 6-0 loss on Tues. Then popped into the trophy shop and there's five fellas all round the prostar gear talking about who's going to take over the reigns. If they took bets there, I would've carried on going the full-hog to Ansells and put a few bets on the next to be in charge!!

Thanks SB. I think we're thinking of two very different Danny Tilburys. I'm talking about former jets poacher and FA Vase finalist.

I was right in the end as well, so proud with this post. Will be interesting to see who's appointed permanently or if they stick with the current duo.

I know them both, I have to admit, the one I was talking about is my favourite of the two.

Not yet, they're more likely to be found in Marbella/Ibiza than on a football pitch right now. I imagine they'll be back playing at a club by October..... watch this space. How are Hanwell doing now, seems like you've settled now, who are your picks out of the new arrivals?

Yeah only one defeat in our last six games :D but i know we have tougher games ahead.

I like all the ex Harefield United players to be honest. L.Hind has played very well in the last two games, R.Egan looks very good along with R.Kinnane, R.Ashe is a class player even though the years are catching up with him, H.Newman is settling in and looks very promising, S.Hurrell looked decent but he hasnt played in recent weeks im told this is due to his work commitments with Chelsea FC, B.Gill looks good and recent signings A.Kacinkevicius, T.Christian-Law and E.Ighorae all look like very good new additions.

Im very happy with what P.Granville and D.Tilbury have achieved so far  :)

B. Gill, is that Ben? Former Arsenal/Watford lad?

I prefer the short on top Harefield Tilbury, probably because his looks remind me alittle of former SSML favourite Lee Bircham.

Tezza Smith is mad busy with work at the moment, him and his work partner still in there first year out on there own. first fixing like crazy for a Hemel based firm so his probably stuck on the tools most Saturdays when not partying with a snap back and vest on.
