The main revenue that determines playing budget at this level is attendances (with a few exceptions where wealthy owners try buying promotions- not a viable long term strategy).

 

Performances can be a bit strange in early season as some clubs will spend more on playing budgets early season in the hope of earning funds from the cup competitions.

 

Over the course of a season the clubs with experience in a league and the better attendances will often get promoted (probably Leamongton and Weymouth this season).

 

We are currently 15th in the attendance league table, and until attendances increase we really can't expect much more than a mid to lower table finish.

Curtis   You make it sound that money is the only thing that decides how well a club performs  but  talent effort  determination  self belief and sheer hard work count for a lot imo Cirencester ( currently 3rd) are 23rd in the attendance league Redditch (currently 4th) are 14th and even league leaders Chippenham are 8th  Its a lot more than just cash.

It's not the only thing, but it is the main thing.... and some clubs do find various ways to generate funds, from prize money in cup competitions, to having successful conference facilities.

 

If any of the three you mentioned are in the top five come the end of the season I will be surprised.
