22. PROCEEDS OF MATCHES PRIOR TO THE SEMI-FINALS

(a) The net gate receipts due from a match (except replayed matches in consequence of a breach of the Rules) shall be the total ticket sales for the match less VAT, the travelling (and possibly accommodation) expenses of the Visiting Club, the fees and expenses of the Match Officials, and other match expenses allowed under the Competition Rules (which include costs relating to gate attendants, turnstile operators, stewards, police charges, floodlighting in accordance with the Competition Rules, contributions to the costs of First Aid Helpers and any costs relating to clearing the ground of snow and water provided the Visiting Club is consulted beforehand on the approximate costs).  Any shortfalls in receipts are the responsibility of the home club and are not to be shared.  The Professional Game Board shall have the power from time to time to issue instructions as to what shall and shall not be allowed as a match expense.

(B) Net gate receipts shall be divided as follows:

  (i) In matches prior to the Third Round of the Competition Proper (other than replayed matches in the Competition Proper), the net gate receipts of each match shall be divided equally between the competing Clubs.
(ii) In replayed matches in the Competition Proper prior to the Third Round, 5% of the net gate receipts shall be remitted to The Association and the balance shall be divided equally between the competing Clubs.

(iii) In matches played in the Third, Fourth, Fifth and Sixth Rounds of the Competition Proper, the net gate receipts of each match shall be divided as follows: 45% to each Club competing in the match. 10% to the Pool.

(iv) In replayed matches in the Third, Fourth, Fifth and Sixth Rounds of the Competition Proper the net gate receipts of each match shall be divided as follows:

      5% to The Association.

      42.5% to each Club.

      10% to the Pool.

So the away team get travel expenses + half of the Net remainder (after all expenses)

So there was 3 match officials 4 turnstile men, 5 police, 10 stewards, 3 gate men, 4 first aiders, = £1040.

150 x £6 (not sure how much to get in) = £900 +  34 x £4 = £136   total  £1036.

So We get NUFING

THIS IS NOT what happened just away it could happen hence keeping the gate low.

So We get NUFING

My understanding is we should get travel expenses (no justification for accommodation expenses) as any matchday shortfall is the responsibility of the home club.

The expenses will be at a pence per mile (45p I think) from our home ground, and I think based on 4 people per car (as I don't believe it justified a coach).

It's all in the FA Cup rules, probably close to rule 22 quoted by HR above.

23. MATCH EXPENSES

(a) Travelling Expenses

(i) In all Rounds, match expenses shall include travelling expenses, actually incurred, which must not exceed £3.00 per coach mile for same day travel and £6.00 per coach mile where an overnight stay is agreed. If private cars are used, then the expenses which can be claimed will be for a maximum of five cars at £0.40 per mile.

Lets not get carried away with Basingstoke's current form and league position.

Looking at some of their games so far, they have lost by the odd goal to the top two teams, drawn with the third placed team and drawn against Hemel, Margate and Bishops Stortford.

Currently, Basingstoke look to be a bit short on confidence in the league but obviously have some very good players who, with less pressure, will be looking to find some form for the league.

IMO we will have to be at our best to have any chance of getting something from the game.

Myself and Bakes went to St Albans last night. Classic case of a team on a bad run with nothing going for them. Basingstoke certainly had more of the ball and played like the home side with St Albans happy to defend (very well) and play more on the break. There was nothing in the game but St Albans were just more clinical in the final third.

Basingstoke are a side full of experience with plenty of Conference and some football league pedigree and the team is not that different to the one that reached the play-offs last season. It just goes to show what confidence and momentum can do for a side as they were thriving on this last season but so far have struggled to find their rhythm. Let's hope that carries on for another two weeks (!!) but we are very aware that we'll have to be at our very best to have a chance of progressing.

We are focused now on getting two positive results from Bedworth and Redditch which we hope will give us the momentum we'd like to take in to the cup game.

Well I have to say all my years in football this is a first for me.That is ; going to a match to run the rule over cup opposition then publicly telling them what you saw. Hopefully that tactic might work ?
