cup of tea
Phew - what an exciting game. Cambridge are a strong and well organised side and started the stronger. We never looked to be played out of it though and came into the game during the first half. Good to take the lead when we did, stunning equaliser from them, unstoppable. Even second half although we did look to create the better chances in my opinion. Definite penalty. Always count the minutes down when you're ahead like that. I will mention two players, Not George or David (who were excellent as usual) but Junior Luke and Tobi Joseph - both were outstanding today. Can we have an easier tie in the next round please? bridgefan
Excellent result, performance and assessment by cuppa. Well done to the players and management. Referee took the 'I'm going to try and avoid giving any cards' to a whole new level.

aka PeteBeatz
Good game today, full of confidence and effort and shows that we would be comfortable back at step 3. Cup money in the bank as well.
Eastside Urchin
I'm a bit dissapinted with the Attendance to be honest. I wasn't expecting loads but thought they would bring down more than a handful and thought that more locals would come down. Like it or not we were playing a decent non leave name and a team a league above us. Obviously some people are on holiday as I know as I e taken a few in the last week lol but driving down to the bridge around 2.40-2.45 it was surprisingly quiet on bridge avenue. Hopefully the crowds will come back and while 235 is not the worst crowd by any means I expected at least late 200s or early 300s at most.
aka PeteBeatz
Most of the crowds in the cup were on the low side today and we did better than some of the clubs who normally get bigger crowds than us like Sudbury.

Robh 1962
I thought we deserved the win and apart from the last 10 minutes were just about the better side.
Eastside Urchin
agreed, although even in the last ten minutes when they came at us a bit more,I felt we had it under control and the play in bringing the ball away from danger was superb
shrimper
missed the southend home game to support the urchins for this one and glad i did must have been one of the best home games since the play off final , ive not been the greatest fan of tobi but today he was brilliant didnt stop running and gave cambridge all kinds of problems was not far off getting a second from another header in the first half but 100% effort from all the team as was shown when the final whistle at last !! went......phew more of the same pls
