Fair Play

22 points have come from the 2 sendings off, Lakey's is part of football and cant really stop that, Scotties was stupidity in reality for getting involved.

We have a policy in place for dissent bookings where the players are fined for first offence, this increases for a second, and keeps increasing until players learn.

Bookings wise we have had pretty much the same as everyone else, and how accurate that is I am not sure, as it has Windsor and Hereford United in, so for me no concern....

12 points for Violent conduct, serious foul play, spitting or offensive and abusive language
10 points for Denial of a goal scoring opportunity or dismissal for 2 cautions
4 points for yellow card

we have total 74 points

12 points X 1 (M Scott)

10 points X 1 (S Lake)

4 points X 1 (Martin x 3, Fraser x 2, Smith x 2, Sear x 2, MacDonald x 1, R.Parsons x 1, N.Webb x 1, Williams x 1)

The fair play league doesn't really count for much it is only the suspensions which do.

so far we have had 2 suspensions, Scotts was a 3 match suspension and Lakes was 1 match.

Yellow card suspensions -

5 yellows by 30th November (17 more games including upcoming FA Cup and League cup)

10 yellows by 10th April

15 yellows by end of season

Neil Thanks for the input I wasnt aware of the system for fining players for persistent dissent and Im sure it will prove effective  The FA update the table every few days and it is accurate  so far. Hereford and Windsor were at the bottom with 0 at the end of last season just as they are now clearly they should be removed .

There is a lot of things done by many at the club that the £10 paying supporter doesn't know.

That is not a dig at anyone just using your post.

The fair play system has now been adequately explained but I find it absurd to level at Bakes and Unders that their team are ill disciplined, when you think back to a few seasons ago, under the reign of Steve Bateman, when we had nothing but moaners and whingers in the team, who were forever picking up bookings, left right and centre for dissent ie  Coyne, Murphy, Burnell, Murphy, Swift, Sonner.

Apart from the firebrand cracker that can go off at any given time that is Ed Smith, our lot now are angels, compared to the ones above !

Did we have two Murphy's in the team 3spirit or is that the dementia kicking in??!! Lol

I'm seeing double, John-Boy !

As much as I liked Danny Murphy as a player, he did love a moan but amazingly he wasn't the worst.

I think Danny Burnell's got to take that honour. He used to moan and groan about everything to the referee, even if the ref was having a good game !

Under Steve Bateman

11/12 - games - 58

Yellows - 92

Reds - 6

Yellows per game: 1.586

12/13 - games - 51

Yellows - 105

Reds - 6

Yellows per game: 2.059

Under Baker and Underwood

13/14 - games - 53

Yellows - 63

Reds - 7

Yellows per games: 1.188

14/15 - games - 50

Yellows - 80

Reds - 6

Yellows per game: 1.6

15/16 so far - games - 9

Yellows - 13

Reds - 2

Yellows per game: 1.444

Under Bateman there were a few games each season where 6-7 yellows were picked up which quickly push up the seasons total.

The other interesting thing is the number of reds each season......fairly consistent.

Do we get one taken off for wrongful dismissal in 13/14 for Lakey ;-)

I think red cards are part of football, sometimes you have to accept they happen as part of the game, the ones that should not be part of the game are ones like Scottie this year plus Reece Yorke and Jake Parsons last year, and these are the type of ones we deal with internally.

Looking at the red cards under our reign:

Michael Blount - Rugby away (Last man)

Ryan Lake - Dunstable away (last man) rescinded

Darren Wheeler - Dunstable away (two bookings)

Warren Harris - Egham away (late tackle)

Jamie McClurg - AFC Hayes home (push) very harsh as caught on video, however did not appeal as the angle was not brilliant and felt we might not win appeal.

Guy Hollis - Kettering home (late tackle)

Eddie Smith - Rugby home (incident with keeper) If the rule was in now we would appeal as the keeper has dived to get Eddie sent off, however he should still not have gone for the ball in the way he did.

Reece Yorke - Hitchin away (kicking out) unacceptable

Jake Parsons - Corby home (putting hands on ref) unacceptable but also totally out of character

Scott Harris - Corby home (apparent elbow) very harsh IMO

George Short - Histon home (two bookings)

James Dobson - Dunstable home (two bookings but silly bookings)

I cant find the sixth one.

Obviously this season we have

Stuart Lake (last man)

Mark Scott (headbutt)

If you imagine how you felt at the awful decision to give a back pass and how you as a supporter may have felt, try being one of the players with so much at stake.... by all accounts McClurg was booked asking the ref 3 times if he was going to blow the whistle for the free kick or if they could take an early free kick.....

It was a poor decision, and I can understand the lads frustration.... the lads wear their hearts on their sleeves.... and today I don't have a problem with how any of them reacted..

If it had been straight after the decision then fair enough as it was a bad decision but both were a minute after the decision was initially given. A minute of complaining whilst the wall was being set up is not the same as an immediate reaction.

The players must always remember that they don't need to moan to the referee because us supporters will do it for them and we will let the ref know when he has made a bad decision.

Well we will agree to disagree ;-)

Getting rather bored of the boy mangers excuses - maybe he needs spend less time on this forum and spend his time getting a grip of the team and get them to improve and let the performances on the pitch do the talking.

The bookings for decent today were well after the ref (he was a knob and we have to accept that) had made his mind up and the moaning in both cases failed to get him to change his mind.

No problems with you opinion Rebel1965 however I am allowed mine also, I have players telling me what was said, and for that I am backing them up, if you want me off the forum that is fine I am also happy to do that...

Bakes, I know I'm speaking for the vast majority when I say that the communication yourself and Unders give to us fans is second to none and there is no way we want anything to change, including voicing your opinions on this forum.
