Usual great coverage Trev.

On that evidence Hartley should have won comfortably. Having said that Fleet could easily have nicked it at the end. Looked a good game for the spectators.

Thanks Dave. Fleet were very poor first half and it could have been all over by half time if Hartley had taken their chances. Fleet improved after the break, bringing on the goalscorer who apparently is only 16 and as you say could have nicked it. Wouldn't like to predict the winner on Tuesday!

All of those instances money ran out, players went Johnno. Simple as that. In fairness, the old Ash team was a while ago now mate. They've been on the slide for ten years at least.

Money wasn't big at ash in the years I was there. Just seems to me that efforts behind the scenes have been poor and decisions to appoint managers have been equally poor.

And cove have never been big payers other than 2 years in particular. Now look what's happening. I sense a lack of drive from behind the scenes. Sandhurst were never had big budgets. The quality surface was the main draw to the club but now look at where the club is.

The match report from our 6-2 win at Spelthorne is here:

http://www.eefconline.co.uk/Fix2015.16-15.html

After a slow start to the season and some horrible FA competition draws we are starting to look much better. There were some quality finishes today and you couldn't fault their keeper for any of them. As is often the case, when you score that many there are other chances that go begging but I thought a score line of 4-0 or 5-0 would have been fairer as they didn't trouble us much at the other end despite scoring twice.

It is disappointing to see Spelthorne struggling as they have done a lot of work to reach this level but they will need to strengthen across the park if they aren't going to be in the bottom three come the end of the season.

A quick word on the Ash situation. There have been a number of new clubs joining us over the last few years, with new facilities and the numbers to help that club progress. It's not just Guernsey and South Park; Bedfont Sports, Hanworth Villa, Guildford City, Knaphill, Spelthorne and Hartley Wintney come to mind straight away.

If these clubs progress, someone has to go in the opposite direction and Ash and Sandhurst are two examples of this. Many others are long gone from the table in the 1998/99 season when Ash last won the League; Bedfont and Feltham have had to merge (sort of!) while AFC Wallingford, Viking Sports, Cranleigh and Netherne have all dropped out long ago and runners up that year were Cobham!

However, the same applies higher up. Look at the number of ex-Ryman clubs that are now at this level. Epsom, Camberley, Chertsey, Cove, Ashford, Raynes Park, Windsor, Banstead and Dorking with Molesey and Egham having bounced back up recently after extended spells down here. These sides (except Ashford) weren't involved back in the day that Ash were battling it out at the business end of the table, but we've all been pushed down by progressive successful clubs like the first two I mentioned along with new teams like Dorking Wanderers and Phoenix Sports.

Ash are effectively at the same level they were twenty years ago; one division below the lowest Ryman rung. Only one problem, that Ryman rung is now in the CCL!

Very true, Rich, but at the end of the day, it's all down to input, and generally speaking, financial imput.

Maybe John.

I'm not denying that it wouldn't help, but clubs like South Park have had no budget prior to this season so it is possible.

We live in hope that one day we can get back to the Ryman League, where we feel we belong, but I'm sure many other clubs feel that way and there's only room for so many up there!

Horley Town 3 Raynes Park Vale 1

Town got back to winning ways today with a good win at home to Raynes Park Vale.Richard Wetton opened the scoring in the firs half and it was one nil at half time. In the second half Leyton Regan Scored goal number two. Raynes Park Vale then hit back to make it back to make it two one. Town then hit back with a third from Ashley Nadesan. The best player on the park was the Raynes Park goal keeper Jack Witts who had an outstanding game and pulled of a number of top class saves.

Appreciate the kind words, that was my debut for RPV after joining from Epsom athletic

All the best for the rest of the season.
