Bernie Gogan as i said the result matters and playing a narraw game is a good way of getting the result required.

Just not my cup of tea sorry to say.

Ps I didn't think we were very narrow at all when we were in possession with a lot being created from wide.

I agree with you on this Marcus, Warren was wide and Dave ( rodney ) Putts was more wide than in the box.

my only tiff is the crosses very short, only missed the first man on the odd occasion.

I agree that Guy was MOTM but the whole side worked hard for that win.

I got a bit worried when Charlie game off as he was winning most balls in the air and that seemed always a likely route to goal.

But with Ed likely to be missing again next game , perhaps he needed that rest.

All in all, a good win against a previously unbeaten side.

What about Kirkley and Pakefield who knocked SYCOB out?

Who are Kirkley and Pakefield? looking on a map seems they play at step 5 and come form next door to Lowestoft in Suffolk approx. 3 hours drive away.

Looked on their web site and viewed a video that 2 young K&P supporters made of their day out at SYCOB and it seems they make one of every game they attend.

There was me thinking that at this stage of the FA cup it was still regional?

I wouldn't mind drawing them but only at home!

I'm glad you all enjoyed your trip to Dorking, (Westhumble).  I'm sure Marc White and his team looked after you.

Sorry I couldn't make it down.

Yes the surrounding area with Boxhill, Ranmore and the Denbies Vineyard is absolutely stunning on a sunny day.

The only drawback at Westhumble is the entry/exit onto a very fast dual-carriageway.

Matters not, for as of next season they will be playing at Meadowbank, right in the heart of Dorking town centre on all new, all sing and dancing 3G pitch, also to be the home of Dorking F.C. as well as the new headquarters for the Surrey F.A. who are moving from Leatherhead.

How are plans going for your new home ??

Construction to start early October and hopefully we'll be in for next season.

An even contest against a good side which we shaded I thought. Their keeper made three excellent stops from close range, although certainly in the case of Charlie's, you would have expected him to hit the back of the net. I was impressed with the way we pressed them high up the pitch in the first half. We perhaps didn't do that as well in the second half.

In terms of individual performances, I'd agree with most that Guy was MOM. I think Luke Williams deserves credit for an excellent first half save, good distribution and generally looking assured throughout. Nathan Webb does a job on the left but I'd love to see him in a more central role.

All in all glad to have negotiated a potential banana skin and hoping the draw is kind on Monday. By the way - do any of our fans still live in the town?!  COYR!

It's all about opinions SM but I thought, on actual play, possession and chances we were much the better team.

Luke had one save to do all game and Dorkings keeper IMO was their MOTM.

I have no doubt Wanderers people will have seen these posts regarding their keeper.

I wish you well in the next round, and will definitely be following what happens to Slough next.

It's amazing how fans view games and all draw different conclusions. I was talking after the game to a regular supporter who thought Slough had played poorly. My opinion is totally opposite to that. I thought we were the better team throughout the game and had the clearer cut chances and should have won the game, more comfortable than we did.

Guy Hollis was my man of the match, closely followed by Nathan Webb but I can't for the life of me see how fans thought Adam Martin was outstanding. I thought he had an ok game but for me he failed to make many tackles and went missing leaving large pockets of space in the middle of the pitch. Both Adam and Jamie McClurg worked hard enough in tracking players but neither of them had one of their better days, I didn't think.

Luckily for us, Dorking didn't capitalise on the large areas of space and our defence coped well with anything Dorking could muster.

Why I quoted your post, Epic Rebel, is that you mentioned Lewis Putman and his crossing.

He would make a good left sided winger but I wish he would cut into the box more often than going down the touchline, as we need to score goals and we bought him as a striker primarily and yesterday in the second half we weren't direct enough.

However, we were the best team on the day and deserved to win and for once, we got what we deserved.
