Hmmmm .....

Been away for 5 days !

Following this particular thread with interest, as a mere Dorking lad since 1958.

I don't have much to do with DFC apart from 'The Ladies'  these days since their enforced move to the New Defence at  Horley for two seasons, but I DO have a lot of direct contact with The Wanderers.

p.s.  Phil Page cut his teeth in the CCL, including playing for DFC and I have followed his progress with interest.

I'm NOT a betting man, but if I was, .................

It is rather limited parking.

Their ground lies adjacent to the A.24 between Dorking and Leatherhead at Westhumble on a dual-carriageway, so entry/departure can be difficult.

Strengths and weaknesses  ?  Lets just say I have watched the progression of some of their players with great interest and I have to say I think Marc White has built a fantastic squad in very little time.

Who knows, as a Dorking 'Mushroom', I may just pop down for this one myself !

3 Spirit Sorry for delay in replying  and Im at a loss to understand how you could possibly interpret my post as one that suggests I think the lads will lose this game Just like you I dont know what will happen but really hope for a Slough victory Players read this forum and it cant help their morale and confidence when so many are talking up this lower level outfit Just like Ciren theyve started well but have played a number of the poorer teams in their league

But when you say 'we are Slough Town' that's giving the impression of 'Bertie Big Bollox' isn't it? Remember we're not a Conference side anymore, sure we have a great history and we're heading back in the right direction but let's just say if we play to our full potential then we should be in the next round.

Most of the time a lot of people will read something in a completely different meaning to how it was meant by the author.

That's why the written word is such a powerful tool, and in some circumstances, a dangerous tool.

If you are driving down from Leatherhead towards Dorking on the dual-carriageway at the second roundabout, Denbies, turn back towards Leatherhead. Wanderers ground is on your left about half a mile ahead.

If I get transport with Er Indoors, I'll be there. JR.

Would they not allow parking on the fields next to the ground? How many actual car spaces have they got BJR? Would have got the train but there's too many changes plus it's still 20 odd minute walk to the ground. As the ground is sort of in the middle of nowhere don't want to arrive to be told it's full then have to park miles away and walk or have to miss the match!
