Mark Nisbet might be a good fit for Slough if we could get him. He was captain for Maidenhead last season.

As you say, RR, he's not been getting much of a look in for Alan Devonshire's team. He is one player that I thought we may of been able to attract here in the summer, from the fallout of Drax's leaving.

The thing is with him, is that he's suffered a long term injury, too. Whether he's over it fully, I don't know.

I suppose how much money he would want would be a question mark, too.

With Guy still away managing family stuff, anyone coming in would be backup as Macdonald and Lake are forming a decent partnership.

........but both of them are not long term.

Would Dave Woozley be a temporary  solution..............still think we miss him anyway !

Graham,I said to him about coming back at the Farnborough friendly but he said he doesn't want the travelling.

Depends what you mean long-term. They are both good for this season - I'm not sure at this level planning goes much beyond that.

Ian, what I was getting at is Stuart L and Gary M are not spring chickens, in age in football terms.

To build a successful side, I believe the centre half partnership is probably the most important places in the team to get right.

To me Guy Hollis is our number one centre half currently. He has age, strength, talent and speed to his advantage.

I'm not writing off either of the other two, as both are very experienced and can do a good job for this season,so are worth keeping but for me losing Craig Scott is a blow and Stuart Lake currently is only helping out, I believe.

So bringing in a younger but proven centre half would be the right way to go especially now Adam Foulser unfortunately cannot play and Billy Jeffery's has this recurrent knee problem.

Just so people are aware, we have a 7 day approach in for a player, and also talking to a couple of clubs about potential loans, and also a player who has not been playing this season, but who is looking to get back into it, and who has played many games at Conference National level.

Nothing will be done in time for this weekend, however we will have Guy Hollis available.

That sounds like some promising news.

Also great to hear that Guy is available for Saturday.
