Monkey8
I see there is a new rule in the Reserve League with the use of Substitutions.. I think its a great move & a pat on the back is needed for putting this in place.
Karen Browne
Remember this only applies in SSML games (league and cup) - for County Cup games check with your parent county
Monkey8
Is this something we decided to do as a league or has it come from above?
Munchkin
It was from the league. I think it was raised at the divisional meetings.
Uncle T
The FA allow this change for below Step 7 leagues subject to a rule change at the AGM.

Karen Browne
Reserve Team Substitutes In reserve team games, the clubs may name a total of five substitutes and those five named substitutes can play. However, once a player has been substituted they cannot come back on. I.E, they are not roll on, roll off subs
nick.ince
Very sensible rule change. Could lead to problems regarding added time though. Potential for 10 subs to be made is 5 minutes + any injuries etc. Could be quite a few refs getting it in the neck when they are adding 8 minutes on top of the 45! Munchkin
They won't do that, well the younger ones might but the old ones won't. 3 years of doing reserve football I could probably count on one hand how many times we got to 48mins. In truth there wont be many matches where both teams have 16. Equally unlikely in close games teams will make 5 changes each. Most likely to happen in a drubbing when the ref will blow up on 45 anyway. It might open up a bit of gamesmanship, but if you're doing that in the south mids reserve football you need to look a yourself.
Rebadiah Hongfield
Oh. I'd convinced myself it was going to be a semi-interesting rule change.
