Jhai Dhillon

Situation is he had signed league forms for Egham  when a load of Hayes and Yeading lads were going to play a game, however the Egham manager resigned before this happened, and despite being asked not to by the player Egham put the forms in last week, which means the lad can not officially sign for a southern league teams for 14 days.

Is this player not joining now, as it appears his name isn't in our squad listing on the Slough website?

We have taken the decision this week not to register Jhai. This is our decision and no reflection on the lad, it's just that our thoughts and priorities have changed in the past 2 weeks.

We'll give a bit more of an update on the squad in general in our interview at the end of the week when we preview the Bedworth game.

Just out of interest, if he had been signed would he have been played prominently as a left back or left mid ?

Why would he have been played at left back when we have Ryan Parsons?

Possibly to fill in on the left side of midfield whilst Jake Parsons is recovering from injury.

It will be very interesting to hear the squad update..... in my opinion we have a few players who don't appear to be up to Southern Premier level, and a few that pick up frequent injuries and consequently aren't available for the majority of games in a season.

A couple of changes to the squad is probably a good a guess as any.

Young left back has joined dual reg from Hayes & Yeading United.

From the OP.

Agree Jhai did very well last night especially considering he had only trained with us once and it was his first competitive game of the season as he picked up an injury in the week leading up to the opening day of the season.

On Sunday we put in a 7 day approach for a left back at a Ryman club (before we spoke to Jhai) which will enable us to speak to that player after the weekend. We obviously called Jhai in at the last minute for last night's game and he will train with us tomorrow and be with us again on Saturday.

We will then see where we are and go from there but his performance last night certainly gave us some food for thought.

Not only did he have a great game for a young lad in his first match to hear him shouting and encouraging his team mates showed up some of the more experienced players who can be quiet.

Keep your heads up.
