B&B cup

Must admit that was rather painful to watch tonight! I'm actually glad we're out of the B&B cup but that performance was possibly the worst I've seen since the thrashing from Redditch. The only positive I'd take from that game is like Staines Rebel Jr said "one less distraction". I honestly think 2 or 3 might be shown the door after that tonight. Anyway, onto Saturday now and to progress in the cup that does matter! COYR

Only one question to ask, why were Burnham the better team tonight?

Because we were crap and Burnham wanted it more.

We started ok but when their second goal went in. There was no fight to get back in it.

Bakes and Unders tried to rally the players at half time and we had a slight improvement at the start of the second half but that was about all we got and the team's effort fizzled out.

As Staines Rebel Jnr said the only one to come out with any real credit was Lewis Putman.

Stuart Lake and Jamie McClurg were about the next two best.

As for the rest, there's nothing to say positive. Ryan Parsons had a stinker and got caught out time and again by the pace of Kane Jones.

Ben Edwards struggled at centre half but unfair to be hard on him,as he's not been playing.

Adrian Sear came off injured but we never missed him,as I forgot he was out there.

Scott Harris thought he was still on his holidays until the second half !

Callum Webb was garbage. Gary Gokman hardly touched the ball first half but put some effort in 2nd half and was rewarded by being withdrawn.

I won't say anymore as it was painful to watch and we hardly had any shots and I can't remember one on target.

Not bothered about the Berks and Bucks cup but that performance was inept and woeful.

Fair play to Burnham, though, they played well and deserved to win.

One thing I should say about Ryan's Parson's tonight, is that at least he put some effort into the game unlike some, and he didn't have much support in front of him.

Kane Jones is quick and gave Ben Ed a torrid time, when Ben played left back in the Windsor friendly the pre-season before last.

Bit strong perhaps in my criticism but I was looking forward to an entertaining open game from both sides, not just from one.

A Slough game to forget quick.

Nope I don't think it was too harsh at all Stuart.... a poor performance from most....

We warned them about this type of game in team talk, and how players cant just switch things on, yes we could lay the blame at mine and Unders feet by making 7 changes to the team, however there should still have been enough out there to win the game.

Taking Wes out of it (who was doing us a favour so that we would not run the risk of injury to Guy Sean or Macca), all the others should have been fighting for a place...

They clearly did not do that tonight.

It was no surprise that after a rollicking at half time they upped the tempo in the game, but to no real avail, and that would be the least we expected.

Biggest thing in football is if you get out worked by your opponent then you will probably get beat, I think the term is hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard, and that is exactly what happened tonight, we did not work hard enough (first half especially).

Apologies to those who did come to the game instead of watching England.

Just a couple of things, someone asked about Puts coming off, unfortunately he was struggling with a back injury, and Searsy has opened up his medial ligaments in his knee.

Feel sorry for Searsy, he's another to have rotten luck with injuries. I know I said he had a game to forget tonight but he doesn't deserve more hurt.

Unfortunately, he may be another Adam Foulser, in the way he's struggling to get fit. When fit, a class player but he's struggling to get over these injuries.

Looking further into the twittersphere it would appear Carl Davies tweet may possibly be due to mark tallantire being fired as manager tonight. That's what you get for beating us 3-0!!!

Bizarre if true?

Dave Mudge, Byron Walton and Martin Stone were all watching the game tonight. Who's going to get the Burnham job now?

Dave Mudge left citing work issues and I doubt it will be Martin Stone as he seems to have turned down a chance to go back in the past.

Wouldn't be surprised if it's Byron Walton as the most available option.

Whoever it is it seems they will have to be a bit of a yes man.

Embarrasing stuff last night.....................thought the dilemma for next Saturday might be who to leave out but now it may be who to put in !

There was stuff in last Saturdays programme about Slough's worst ever game................perhaps we just saw it

..
Only 91 of us there so the 200 or so that missed it can count themselves lucky.

Neil has been honest in what he has said..............and after whatever was said at half time enabled us to draw the second half !!

And Burnham are not a good side..........as others have said already, it was a case of (Boring old cliche) them wanting it more.

I know we should forget it before the weekend but it was so dire it will stay in the memory for all the wrong reasons

In my 15 years of watching Slough I've rarely, if ever, seen us put in a decent performance in the B and B, so why are supporters surprised. I missed last night as I expected the same as previous years, and it sounds as if that's what we got.

The B and B doesn't matter to most fans, so why should it matter to most players? (Though to someone fighting to get a place should have seen it differently).

Roll on Saturday.

You can forgive fans for not bothering or caring about this cup but surely the players shouldn't have the same attitude? Ok they're not professional but they still get paid to do a job and surely personal pride should play a part too? No player goes out to lose of course but it's obvious all the levels weren't high enough last night and maybe some did think it would be easy.

I wasn't expecting the players to fight for every ball like in a proper FA Cup match but there needs to be leadership and desire, in a match where players should be trying to win over the managers, to be involved in the Dorking match.

I don't think making 7 changes by the management had anything to do with losing. Apart from the odd one or two, the rest are better players than Burnham but they didn't show it.

It's certainly not the end of our season by being knocked out such a minor honour but on the night it was embarrassing to be beaten by our local rivals, in such a manner.

Anyway, the Berks and Bucks Cup is over for another season. I don't know why we don't field a mixture of hungry Slough youth players and a few of our experienced heads in it next season, in an effort to bring the youth through. I'm sure we would have had a better offering than we got from many 1st teamers last night.

You need to get along to a youth game?
