Chesham

Good point for us today which was deserved more for the way we battled than the quality of our football. Delighted for Charlie Mpi who must have been struggling, particularly in the second half up there on his own but what a man's header for the equaliser! Hope Scotty is okay, he was excellent today. Guy and Billy both did well coming in at centre half. COYR!

What a great header from Charlie Mpi to rescue us a point. His contribution today was another big plus point.

Big thanks also have to go to Mark Scott for keeping the scoreline down and Guy Hollis, who was superb at the back.

Chesham's fast tempo game gave us a lot of problems first half but after what seemed like a good talking to by our managers [half time team talk] , our players came out with the bit between their teeth and it was rather against the run of play in the second period, that we found ourselves behind to a good goal by Chesham's Dave Pearce.

What is a bit of a worry is our fitness levels compared to a team like Chesham but hopefully this will improve with more games under the belt.

Hope Mark and Eddie's injury's aren't as bad as they looked.

Thought mark scott was superb today with a number of excellent saves. Mpis header was superb, especially considering it was one of the only decent balls he got all day. Thought the quality of our crossing was awful today, with Harris Fraser and parsons you have 3 players who usually have great delivery, but today is was all over the shop. If it wasn't for scott I feel we'd have been dead and buried today. Very good battling performance. Of the outfielders I thought Adam martin stood out today and I feel for long periods he carried our misfikf single handed. A valuable point against a decent opposition.have to agree with a previous post. With the exception of Fraser and mpi our players looked knackered (compared to Chesham) for the last 30. Hope ed and scott are ok. From where I was the "tackle" on scott looked horrible.

Chesham were much better than us in the first half with Mark Scott making some excellent saves to keep us in the game.

Second half was a different story where for large parts we were the better team and unfortunately conceded the opening goal against the run of play.

After going behind, I thought the players showed some real fight and character and we were justly rewarded with a good cross and headed equaliser from Charlie Mpi.

Really pleased with our second half performance with MOTM performances from Mark Scott, Charlie Mpi and Guy Hollis.

For his work rate and goal Charlie Mpi gets my vote for MOTM.

With a number of players missing today I was worried whether we'd have enough strength to pull off a result, so fair play to all, they battled throughout and got reward towards the end. We lost our way a bit after Ed Smith went off and I thought Chesham were good value for their lead overall. They chased, closed down and harried us all over the pitch, but for some reason they relaxed after the goal (thought they'd done enough?) and let us back in it.

The Meadow's been a bit of a graveyard for us through the years, so 2 draws in the last 2 visits is a marked improvement.

Mark Scott pulled off some great saves first half, hope the injury isn't as bad as it seemed.

We would have lost that game last season and Chesham have improved their side too. They'll be in and around the play offs this time.

Pity we hadn't made 500.

Before the game, my friends and I was talking about the merits of Chesham's ground and guessing at it's capacity. While it's a little run down, the pitch is good and the stands are concreted all round.

I wonder how many it would take to fill it? Anyone know?

The official maximum capacity is 5,000

Its horrible there, you need to be a mountain goat to get down the steps, the wood is coming off the top of the fence with large nails showing, you could trip over the amount of cans and plastic bottles behind the stand not to mention the large hose pipe laying along the pathway, certainly not safe for anyone in my opinion let alone those not so nimble on their feet, so good job there wasn't more people there!

From a safety perspective, it's an understatement to say it's certainly not good !

From a spectator's view, it's rather pleasant, given it's views over fields and trees and the cricket ground before you get in the stadium. Also plus points of the large pitch and the ground's amenities.

Ground capacity at the meadow is 3000.

That number must be to cover health and safety but I would have thought you could get well beyond that figure, if the legislation didn't exist.
