I think the players were excellent yesterday, playing in that heat for 70 minutes with 10 men.

We'll never know what would have happened if we kept 11 players on the pitch but I sensed we would have got something out of the game.

The 'Ginger one' is definitely Hitchin's best player and deserved to get booked and arguably a red after putting his face into Adam Martin's and goading him after scoring a goal, if it was Hitchin's number 10 I'm sure the woos would have gone down clutching his face.

I think it's down to the Ref but what happened to any drinks breaks? Against Frome, because of the heat, we sensibly had a couple of drinks breaks but yesterday the useless old codger didn't allow any.

The no.10 for Hitchin deserved at least a yellow for feet up at Scott, his feigning of injury to draw the sending off and his disrespect (pretending to do his boots up when being spoken to) in the second half after another altercation.

I too thought we would have got something out of the game if we'd stayed with 11 players. We look more solid this season, Biggleswade apart!

The past 3 of my visits to Hitchin have been marred by sendings off and/or poor refereeing decisions.

The yellow was for un-gentlemanly conduct or being a bit of an arse.

Much the same sort of thing, RR !

We will be talking with Lakey this week, he is a very good and experienced player who can play centre half or centre midfield, time will tell on this one, however we would like him with us especially at the moment what with the issues we have at centre half in terms of injury and personal reasons.

Just beem reading report of game on there site I could not make the game heard it on Rebels Radio.

There taking the Mick all round about incident then making out that Hatchet missed cert goal of the season.

I can tell them percentages will say they will miss there share to the more the merrior.

Then they say in the tone of David Brent all goalkeepers are crazy.

They should get back in there box and shut up.

I hope report is put up in changing room when we play them at home give the team incentive about time we gave them a stuffing.

Just watched Hitchin's video of the game and must say some excellent highlights and replays of Hitchin's goals, shame about the goal that we scored.

As if it needed confirming, the video also shows that it's par for the course these days for players to feign injury and take a dive to get another player sent off.

Also think the fist clenching and sheer joy shown by Hitchin's number 5 when he knew the red card was going to be shown should be another nice little incentive for the home game.

Disappointed at the suggestion of feigning injury to get an opposition player sent off but we know it goes on these days. Brought to mind an incident in a Good Friday Corinthian League Memorial Shield match back in the day (very much so) when Slough's first team lost to what was essentially a Chesham United reserve side. Geoff Redford took umbrage at a challenge from a Chesham forward and knocked him down. As there were no substitutes in those days an outfield player had to go in goal. The irony was that next day the same Slough team, except with Lyn Evans in goal, went back to Amy Lane and beat the full (and rested) Chesham first team-and a good one at that-two-nil.

This is where the them and us come in this season.

For teams that have every game filmed from multiple angles they will appeal, and if the player is deemed to have dived/play acted then retribution will be handed out by the FA/league to that player.

Teams that are not filmed all the time or from a single angle won't have as much use with this new law.

Sometimes the single angle does work though, as when we managed to get a red card overturned when the lino got it wrong.

Anyway, time to put that really good 10 man hot weather performance forward for the visit of Poole on Saturday

HR can you get onto Hitchin and see if they've got the incident filmed from another angle   :)

Forget saturday why is it since the Bateman days we struggle to get results against Hitchin and all the clubs

in Buckinghamshire. In the seventies and eighties it was Dagenham Enfield Hendon we did get some good

results against Wycombe Sutton we would always win at home and lose away apart from the biggest game

when we won at there place on a thursday night to win the League Title.

But to me it was always Barking can remember playing them away

we went 3 nil up all the supporters thought at last we are going to beat this lot and they came back

with the game ending 3 all dismal place and awful trip home on the coach.

Couldnt be there but it seems the goalkeeper I said would be worth six points to us this season cost us three.............now he has to save us nine !

Have a feeling that this tear we can hold our own against Poole at the weekend.

With a more or less settled side I think I'd agree with you Graham but at present, for various reasons, it seems like we can't seem to get into any sort of rhythm.
