After 5 hours in the car to watch that and return, I have to say we coped very well with 10. Hitchin were not a great side (their 7 was class though) and I feel credit must go to the players for battling throughout. However, they and the fans and management were seriously let down today. Yes their was provocation but the reaction was stupid and I hope we aren't 3 point short of safety/play offs at end of the season, cos 1 man cost us all 3. I'm sure we would have won with 11.

Thank you Warren !!

Also think we battled well, ten men and blazing heat.

Have to say well done to Luke, saved the penalty only for them to score on the rebound, but considering he hasn't been too well he did a great job. Think it would of been a different story if we had eleven men on the pitch

Words fail me on the ref, and trust me that don't happen often !!

The referee was a little lenient towards some of the Hitchin challenges, true, but the game changing decision wasn't the referee's, it was Mark Scott's. Whether the Hitchin player left his foot in or not is irrelevant. You can't do that.

The penalty decision or not is open to debate but it's a red herring. If the keeper doesn't head butt the Hitchin player the game continues with the ball in his hands.

Top performances in the circumstances by the whole team, especially the front two who worked so hard. Impressed with Stuart Lake. Gary Macdonald had his best game so far and Sean Fraser was again superb.

Obviously not been at the game so can't really comment. But if Mark Scott retaliated that is a red card but no penalty as he was retaliating to a Hitchin offence? Still down to ten but not a goal down which is surely a major difference

Hitchin weren't penalised for any offence, the referee only stopped the game after the head butt. Since the incident happened in open play as opposed to a dead ball situation, I'm guessing that's the reason a penalty was awarded.

That is correct Matt, I am not sure the ref or the assistant near to the incident saw it, as if either had, ref would have brandished a red car straight away or assistant would have flagged... but neither did... the assistant near us said he saw it, but not convinced he did as he did not see the initial tackle on Scottie as that would have been a free kick, however have to accept that it was his decision for Scottie to go.

However having said all that, it was the correct decision to send Mark off, and we have to accept that they did get it right, whatever way they came to the decision.

Firstly, there was no guarantee that we would have won with 11 men on the pitch and secondly I'm sure there will be other times in the season where, for one reason or another, a player or incident will cost us 3 points, so there is no way you can blame one player in one game if we are relegated at the end of the season based upon a hyperthetical 3 points.

Not condoning it... But just looked at photos... And number 10 needs to grow some balls and stop being such a drama queen! Such a tool

Not excusing what Mark Scott did but unfortunately it's part and parcel of the game these days that a fellow player will take a dive to get another player sent off.

The number 10 was not seriously hurt and was laughing and joking on the touch line waiting to come back on.

Despicable but the seedy part of the game today.

By open to debate I mean whether or not there should have been a free kick. Personally I didn't see the foul on Mark Scott but others said the player caught him.

However I feel there is a huge difference between a striker missing an open goal. A defender sticking one in the net and a player nutting another in front of the ref. the other two are mistakes and excusable.
