leedsedgware
Pitch unplayable!!! At this stage of the season. What an absolute disgrace and an embarrassment to the league. We should be given the points and reimbursed travel. I expect neither will happen and we will be forced to spend out for another journey to that $hithole when I'm sure it will be in even worse state. We are meant to be there Wednesday. Is it in that bad a state. Assume 4 days wont be enough to rectify it. Very embarrassing for club and the league. Shouldn't happen at this level. Ground/pitch diabolical end of last season. Edited August 15, 2015 by leedsedgware

Very embarrassing for club and the league. Shouldn't happen at this level. Ground/pitch diabolical end of last season. Forecast is reasonably fair and with a good ground-staff, I would have thought they would get the pitch playable in 4 days.
kentathfc
Excellent result for us, St Albans are still a very good side and will not lose many! One of our best performances for a long time.
thecoldend
Pitch was awful when I saw Woodford play on Wednesday but it was playable. Very bobbly, patchy in places but playable.

One of our best performances for a long time. You were too much for us going forward on Tuesday. St Albans will be very hard to beat at their pitch given their style of play, but always thought they would be suspect on the road... Very embarrassing for club and the league. Shouldn't happen at this level. Ground/pitch diabolical end of last season. It wasn't due to weather so if it wasn't playable today I fail to see how it could be playable any other time short of being dug up and relaid. At least we were unbeaten this weekend..... leedsedgware
Munchkin
Good result for our reserves, didn't start great and should have conceded before we found ourselves 1 up. Then conceded a soft goal after a cock up by our centre back. A spill from their keeper which was finished from close range meant we went in 2-1 up. Should have closed the game off in the 2nd half and ultimately the bombardment from long free kicks paid off with us conceding a penalty. a tough starting game, but lots of potential from our reserves under a new manager. Slidetacklelongthrow
Awful start and awful referee but boys dug deep and deserved the win in the end. Amersham always a tough place to go they are a young team but think they'll be ok
Whitley Bay
Forecast is reasonably fair and with a good ground-staff, I would have thought they would get the pitch playable in 4 days. Where are they playing these days?
NGB
Forecast is reasonably fair and with a good ground-staff, I would have thought they would get the pitch playable in 4 days. It is clear for all to see that there is no ground-staff to maintain the Goldsdown Rd pitch, however the owner was at the ground for Woodford v Baldock and has promised future investment and less sunday/turkish league football to be played on the pitch. No good future investment, needs resolving now. for a pitch not be playable in the 2nd week of the season is shambolic. Understand teams have cricket sides, and residents issues with floodlights, but the league are aware of these issues and teams inform Karen well in advance. For a game to be postponed because the ref deemed it un safe for the players is poor at this stage of the season, pitches should be in excellent condition. How are they going to improve it with games on it every weekend, without ripping it all up and laying a new pitch down.
Rebadiah Hongfield
They need a temporary groundshare, or to have all their games away for 1-3 months. Is that even possible? It's always been a terrible pitch, never enjoyed my visits there. Having to call off a game at this stage of the season is probably the wake up call that they needed. It's always been a terrible pitch, never enjoyed my visits there. Having to call off a game at this stage of the season is probably the wake up call that they needed. It is a poor surface, has been last 5/6 years. They ground share with Woodford, so the same would apply to them. The fixtures would be in disarray. We played there our second last game of last season. There was no grass, weeds everywhere, rocks in the pitch. The stand was dodgy structurally and the floodlights very very poor to say the least. I can't believe they passed a LUX test. The only part of the pitch you could see from the stand was the near corner. The ground is definitely in need of investment, and a lot of it. Be interesting to see feedback this week on it. Edgware are meant to be there Wednesday.
Rebadiah Hongfield
With all this pressure on this forum/tweeter and the weather forecasted as dry, it'll be on. But it won't be pretty. I've seen 7 games there in the last 5 years, no team has been able to put on a show for the fans on that god-awful playing surface. And even if they did, I probably wouldn't have been able to see it with those god-awful floodlights. If you're thinking of making the trip down from Yorkshire, I'd advise strongly against it! Ginola
Not much tolerance and compassion on this thread. We can't all afford 4G pitches and a Sparky mate who can sex up a Lux test result. This is the tenth tier we are on about. Sure, some of the pitches are pony most of the winter, the dressing rooms are dated, damp and dismal, the walk to the pitch is insecure, downright dangerous, or dicey. Lay off the negative waves and have a little love. What goes around comes around. If everybody else had better facilities than your team, you would soon get voted out into the County leagues. Try cutting the grass on the pitch with a domestic mower ( I have ) and then share your thoughts.
RendonBodgers
Your club can claim for out of pocket travel expenses, your secretary needs to e-mail league secretary with the claim Don't tell them that, Drew Mitten's fuel bill for driving over in that badboy pimped up hyundai i20 will send the club into liquidation? Definatley won't be able to afford a new patch of grass then. Winslow Boy
