Vanarama National League South club Gosport Borough's new Development Squad has joined the fledgling Dorset County FA Under-21 Development League for the 2015/16 season.

The new league, administered from the Dorset FA's HQ at Hamworthy, will feature four teams in its opening season.

Gosport Borough's squad will be joined by teams from Poole Town, Totton & Eling and Wimborne Town in the first season.

Each team will play their opponents home and away twice over the course of the season which will provide each team with 12 league fixtures.

The League is for under-21s but up to three over age players are allowed per game and to allow clubs to look at and develop fresh talent, up to three players can be registered on the day of the game.

In addition, there are a number of clubs with squads who happy to play friendly fixtures during the season such as Eastleigh, Dorchester Town and Havant & Waterlooville.

Discussions are also ongoing between Dorset FA and potential member clubs about increasing the size of the League during the season.

Boro's squad will be managed by Terry Pyke and Charlie Goilding and will be looking to bring through some of the club's best under-18 and Academy talent as well giving potential new signings the chance of a trial in a match situation.
