Going on last seasons form why would you leave a club that was superior to the one you are going to.And why would they not want  to keep you ?

 

On another subject, back in the day never came across any players at senior non league level who took holidays or got married during the season, I may be wrong but cannot name one.Then again I suppose players rule now where it used to be the clubs.

100 mile trip for Charlie to travel to Hungerford threw times a week was proving too much with his job etc. Took him 10 mins to get to training last night.

 

Times have changed JB old boy, it's the same for other clubs at this level and we are also seeing it in the Conf South too now. As managers it's very frustrating but we have to get on with it!

Last time Charlie was with us,Steve Bateman clearly favoured the Burnell/Sonner partnership and out of 22 games at the club he was substitute 17 times !

 

I think people are failing to remember, what an impact he had when he came on to the pitch, when invariably we were chasing the game and were either behind or needing a winning goal. His pace and direct running had opposition defenders worried. 

 

Since then, Charlie has played for Hemel Hempstead and Hungerford, both not mug teams, so hopefully he's even better to what we had last time. I for one am pleased to see him back and believe our current managers will enhance his game and show a sight more faith in him than Steve Bateman ever did.

So who , in an ideal (all fit, no holidays) situation are our front two now...............or does it let us go three up top.

 

Maybe Ed and Charlie with Putts on the flank..................

 

What a great choice/dilemma to have !

Imo he will be a great asset used properly and I think out managers will know how to play him   Hemel messed him around the same way Bateman did he scored 13 goals for them  12 when brought on as a substitute  not imo the best way to use him.

I'm not saying 1 way or the other, BUT look at it from the Hemel managers side, it did work because he came on and scored 12 as you said. But only 1 when started.

 

SAYING ALL THAT, That's without knowing in total how many times Charlie started and was sub.

Not forgetting that Hemel had a very good team that got promoted to the Conference South.
