One thing that hasn't changed at Hoddesdon this summer is the match reports. Reads as if Tring Town scored with their only 2 chances of the game.

Good result for Hillingdon, have the majority of us overlooked them in our predictions for Div 1?

Hard to tell on this evidence.  Result looks emphatic but it was the proverbial game of two halves!  We controlled the game and looked like being the only winners for the first 35-40 minutes.  We got in front, but then quickly gave away a poor one at the other end.  From then on a lot of our players went missing and they took their chances when they came - they were dangerous on the counter attack with three rapid lads up top.  We were chasing the game for much of the second half, so often left ourselves exposed and they took full advantage.  Think they'll be in the top 10 though.

Some interesting results in Division One though - albeit not one we would have wanted, but still 37 games to go!!  :D

Ground Hoppers report

Totternhoe 5 Grendon Rangers 0 (Spartan South Midlands League Division 2) Att: 46 f&n

This was a very comfortable win for the home side. They were three up by the break, and really this was all over after they scored their first, because the visitors never looked to have a goal in them, and were fortunate to keep the score to five. Totternhoe have a solid centre half who must have played at a much higher level than this, a more than useful attacking midfielder and a skilful right sided striker. I doubt if I will see a poorer team at Step 7 than Grendon this season.

The ground is OK too. A village green affair on the edge of a very pleasant Chiltern village, it was railed on three sides, roped on the fourth and has a decent amount of cover in front of the clubhouse behind the near goal. They were a friendly bunch, and although they don't issue other than for cup games where a prog is compulsory, an old copy is always available for travellers, and pretty decent it is too. Very enjoyable afternoon, and I look forward to seeing Totternhoe again at Tring Corinthians on Tuesday.

Another report

Baldock Town (1) 1, Hillingdon Borough (1) 5 (SSML 1)
Played at Stotfold FC
Admission £5/£2.50, Programme £1 (16 pages)
Attendance 45

Baldock's first game at their "new home" of Stotfold FC. A game that began slowly for both sides in the heat of the afternoon but in the second half it was Hillingdon that took control. To be honest the Baldock defence left a lot to be desired with the visiting forwards always a threat with their pace that they turned into goals. They could have had more. For Baldock, a tough start to their season but from now everything is on the up, hopefully!

Maybe you should have a go Jonno, can't be any less bias but maybe more entertaining?

Based on match reports have Hoddesdon ever deserved to lose a game?

Probably the unluckiest team of all time if you go by their reports!!! Still, at least they're straight up on the site even when they lose. Unlike certain teams who ignore/majorly delay their reports on losses.... Jets.
