Rebels 3 Met Police 0

In the first half we were magnificant. In the entire first 45 minutes we managed to put together a string of 2 consecutive passes. However, in the second half we stepped up a gear and played some really nice football.

Tony Boot opened the scoring on 25 minutes when he ran through on goal and slotted the ball past their keeper. Ian Hodges doubled our lead 10 minutes later when Matt Miller found him unmarked, in space and in the centre of the penalty area. Ian then made no mistakes in hitting the ball into the empty net.

The Rebels played much better in the second 45 than we did in the first. Ian Hodge showed why he was out top goalscorer when he beat their goalkeeper yet again when he headed high into the top corner.

Overall, it was a comfortable win. We played well enough to score goals without ever really looking weak at the back. But the Met Police did miss two sitters in the second half, but other than that they were never really in it. The refereeing wasn't good either, at times it looked dodgey. There was one decision from the linesmam when he flagged for a Slough corner, but the ball NEVER went out of play! Ah well, they can't get everthing right.

A rare thing, we played well against one of the bottom sides in the division. An even rarer thing, we kept a clean sheet! It was our first since the Tooting & Mitcham game! Long may it last.
