Had to rethink before posting as in all my possible permutations Chris Henry featured. So , for this Saturday, having regard to absences, I would go :-

M.Scott, Fraser, Hollis, C. Scott, C.Webb, J.Parsons, N.Webb, Sear, W.Harris., Putman, Smith.

And what a strong bench that will leave us also !!

No Ryan Parsons?

I found it difficult to choose between Adam Martin and Searsy.

Adam Martin has been away and has only played a game and a half in pre-season and is Searsy still recovering from his injuries?

I certainly don't think Wazza should play from the start. He needs to be brought on nice and gently before he's unleashed.

My Team would be as follows:

M.Scott

Fraser Hollis C.Scott R.Parsons

W.Harris Martin N.Webb J.Parsons

Smith Putman

Lots of positions in my opinion where manager could go one way or another....I actually wouldn't be suprised if Scott Harris was to start on what I have seen also

I have been reading this thread with interest, and it is interesting seeing some of peoples teams etc.

The fact that there are so many different permutations, for me underlines that we have plenty of options this season, I know for the last 2 years our first team has picked itself on opening day, but as Mark says above, we could go down a different route in a number of positions, and most importantly I don't think it would weaken us.

Now you all know how hard our job is picking the starting eleven for the first game ;)

We all know how tough the league will be this year with some of the sides that have come into it, and the bookies have us as one of the favourites to go down from what I have seen, however I do believe if we can keep everyone together (which could be tough in its own right) then the squad will be much better equipped to deal with injuries suspensions and unavailability, and hopefully spring a few surprises.

Jon reminded me tonight that from the squad of 16 for Saturday, 9 were not involved in our last game at Dorchester Town.

Roll on Saturday and the start of the season, I hope we all have a good season together, and ask that you all get behind the lads and try to make Holloways Park a tough place for people to come, in what will hopefully our last year ground sharing.

Surely Warren will start as a sub and be used as an impact sub. If we can stay injury/suspension free we'll have a decent squad.

I think you're spot on there Glen.

Apart from injury/suspension free, keeping the squad happy will be a task in itself because this season every player has a case to be in the starting 11.

Looking at the players who could be subs on Saturday, just shows the strength in depth we have as all 5 would have been starters last season. Then you look at the other 5/6 players who won't be in the match day squad it does give you other (good) problems! Too late for Jon but Neil stock up on some hair colouring!

I am quietly confident we will do better than last season, especially with the defence

being tightened up. I am going for a 12th. place finish.

Like your positivity,WR.

Anything above the 16th place, where we finished last season would do me but of course hope for better. Be nice if we can put together a decent cup run, too.

One thing I'm not quite as confident as you with, is whether our defence has tightened up this season.

Last season, we started very well with a fairly settled centre half partnership of Hollis and Yorke. Ryan Parsons was ever present on the left, as I expect him to be in this one, and our right back was primarily Sean Fraser with Tom Moran filling in as cover for the back line when needed [ Tom started at right back for the first 5 games].

This season, before a ball is kicked in the league, we've not been able to field a settled centre half partnership, even though we've now got potentially 4 centre halves on the books.

So I'm, slightly concerned, that things may take awhile to settle down at the back but I hope my concerns are unfounded.
