Frome,first league game.Your line up.

As Graham Cox said to me at the Ascot game, 'I expect we will all be adding our preferred line ups on the forum before the Frome game', so I thought I'd get the ball rolling. [NB Hope this is alright with you,Graham !]

I have no idea who Bakes and Unders will opt for but going by what I saw with our pre-season form and with close attention to the Wealdstone match, I would start with a 4-4-2 of

Scott

Fraser Hollis Scott  R.Parsons

J.Parsons McClurg Martin N.Webb

Smith  Putman

Subs: Jefferys, Sear, C.Webb, Henry, S.Harris.

Frome last season were beatable and this game we must be positive to try and get the 3 points. Hence Callum Webb making the subs bench ahead of Ben Edwards. For me,it's too soon for Wazza, Adam N[if he's still around] and Wes.

What do others think?

I agree with you 3 Spirit, although I would star Chris Henry left midfield

WR,who would you drop to the subs bench for Chris Henry?

Same 11 apart from Henry for Martin and Calum Webb for Fraser. Would also include Warren Harris as a sub. I doubt Wes will be used unless it's an emergency.

If Wazza is on your subs bench, who wouldn't you have on there?

3 Spirit: I would start Chris Henry in place of Nathan Webb as he is a known quantity,

and bring Nathan Webb on for the second half. Also I would name a slimmed down

Neil Baker on the subs bench (maybe)

Neil's got to be left back in the changing room !

Nathan Webb for me has been one of our best players pre-season and Chris Henry has been a bit out of sorts. However,Chris with his pace to burn and to get at defenders would be a great asset to have from the subs bench for this match IMO.

I'll take Sear out as he's not going to be ready and you need 5 fully fit subs.

I thought Adrian proved last night that he's well worth being in the first 16 even if it is only for 45 minutes or under.

If we ever see him truly fit, he's a class player and first teamer definitely. I hear he's a bright spark as well ! :)

But in terms of total pre season minutes he's not had much plus how many games did he start last season? You can't rush him back in.

Think we'll have to beg to differ on this one, Glen.

This is of course assuming that everyone is fit and because of the imminent news I'll leave Chris Henry out of my selection.

M Scott

C Webb Hollis C Scott R Parsons

J Parsons Martin McClurg N Webb

Putman Smith

Subs Jeffries, S Harris S Fraser Sear W Harris

Cant understand how anyone is putting Nathan Webb as a winger. He has clearly been best as a holding midfielder.

my starting XI would be

Scott

C,Webb Hollis Scott(macdonald when back) R,Parsons

W,Harris N,Webb Sears R Parsons (would have been Henry with Parsons on the right)

Putman Smith

Subs: William (GK), Scott(When MacDonald is starting), Martin, McClurg, S,Harris

(Jeffreys when Macdonald is away)

It will be tough to keep centre mids happy when they are all fit.

Just because he's selected on the left side. He doesn't have to play like an orthodox winger. From what I've seen of Nathan, he could play in a number of positions and to me would be wasted as a holding midfielder.

That's a million dollar question; when will most of the squad be fit ? !

I disagree, I think he showed just how good he could be as a holding midfielder against H&Y. He protected the defence excellently and started the forward play. I believe he has previously played in defence which would again suggest holding midfielder, he would also then allow whoever else is playing centre mid more freedom someone like sears or martin would be able to play with more freedom and control the game.

have to love pre season and the debates.

Nathan is predominately a midfielder, either central or right side, but has been known to play right back.

He was not playing a holding role against H&Y, him and Clurgy were just set up as a midfield 2 and neither did the job of holding specifically, they just both have good energy that allows them to get all over the pitch.

Had to rethink before posting as in all my possible permutations Chris Henry featured. So , for this Saturday, having regard to absences, I would go :-

M.Scott, Fraser, Hollis, C. Scott, C.Webb, J.Parsons, N.Webb, Sear, W.Harris., Putman, Smith.

And what a strong bench that will leave us also !!
