Searsy was taken ill during the day, which was a shame, as he was down to do a 45 minutes:

It could be that we have Ben Ed, Adam Martin and Searsy all available at the weekend, however we do have a few concerns after last night, and will not risk anyone unnecessarily.

That's a perfect three man centre midfield, if ever I heard it ! ha ha !  ie a very good holding midfielder-Ben,an industrious hard worker with a touch of flair-Adrian and a box to box, goal scoring man in Adam.

Now we've just got to get them fit ! !

Also have to admire the way you dodged my formation question, Bakes, he he ho ho :D .

3spirit, only my opinion but not sure we would learn anything experimenting with formations against Ascot.

Reading Rebel, you've become the management's PR man ! Come down off that fence! :)

Bakes and Unders will do what they want, I know that and you know that, but from my angle after years of watching non-league football, pre-season is not only about getting the players fit. It is also about learning what the players you have at your disposal can do.

Admittedly we've left it late to mess about with formations but for me, as proven by the Wingate and Finchley match, Gary Macdonald and Billy Jefferys are susceptible to pacy forwards.

Guy Hollis was excellent last night.

With the experience of Gary and Billy, however, I think a three man defence, would be a very useful asset to have for the season ahead, for pre-determined certain games or to adapt when need be.

I don't believe we will or we will need to play it very often but it should be there as a back up. Better to try now in a nothing game than when the real stuff starts in my opinion.

As Bakes has alluded to [about injuries], and with Ryan Parsons also taking a knock last night, what better time to see a 3-5-2 ?

By the way, RR, I would start the Wealdstone, Frome and Biggleswade games with a 4-4-2 !
