michael
Can't be much longer now . the waiting will soon be over surely. the eagerly awaited KSC draw must be imminent. one bit of silverware already this season 3 more cups to win. unless there are wholesale changes to the defence-i can't see Mrgate gettig anywhere much above half way in this league where defensive erors will be punisheda lot more than in ryman;so cup runs take on even greater significance imo (we are a bit prone to the odd -maybe a lot more than odd-defensive error ). michael
my life is complete now and i won't die wondering. could have been a bit easier than tonbridge as i do want to win this thing. (was down in kent midweek and had a need to go into canterbury library-needed the loo, but pretended i could read-low and behold-on a shelf was a non league football publication. back pages-it featured the southern league cup final ramsgate v margate in very early 60's. 0-0 draw fahy, harrop, marsahll, burden, tommy jenkins. now this was the southern league cup final-i guess ryman equivalent-and local derby or not-over 4000 crammed into southwood to see the game. 4000 plus-amazing. don't think i was there-but dad may have taken me to the replay at margate. no doubt Jeff Trices history site can tell us alot more about it. michael
you never know-they may return. (am i the only one who would love to see sky tv crash and burn ) your post makes me feel very ancient Bill. ican rmember having to endure a truly dreadful tv programme called 'the good old days' which my mum and dad used to watch-almost as bad as 'the black and white minstel show-i think you get put in jail for simply mentioning that these days. t was pretty bad though in many ways wasn't it -what a differentt world ! michael
really,i never knew that . thats such a shame-it was brilliant . I assume we are talking about the history site ? i'm quite shocked ,although i have on a couple of occasions thought haven't seen any references to it recently-but never thought for one moment it had closed down. i don't know the circumstances but hope it was done for resons that favoured JT.. good luck to him if he sold it for a million dollars-it was supreme it was so so good
BlueGate Alan
23rd May 2015. My Margate FC History website is now closed. It's been a labour of love but I've no longer got the inclination to keep on running it. Taken from Jeff's website, good to see you are on the ball Michael
