IMO having a budget is acceptable if it is sustainable. If you are averaging around 100 on the gate, then why not reinvest in your playing squad. Better players, better football, bigger gates, more revenue.

Budgets become an issue when clubs rely on an individual to provide it, or the source of finance is coming from outside of the club. Should the individual or the revenue stream dry up then that's where clubs go to the wall.

In the case of AFC Dunstable, i am not surprised that they have a healthy budget. They have excellent facilities at Creasy Park which I am sure generates a huge amount of revenue. It is no surprise that more and more clubs are looking to install 3G pitches at their grounds - don't be fooled into thinking this is to reduce the number of postponements, it is merely a method of generating more revenue for the club.

We at WGC are looking forward to having our 3G facility installed before the end of the year, and of course anticipate that it will generate good revenue through hire to other local teams. Makes sense, and yes it may be that we can put some of this towards our budget. We also benefit from good attendances, and a very healthy social club.

It is worth remembering that Football clubs at our level should be considered as not for profit organisations. If there is a surplus, it should be reinvested - whether that be in the playing squad or the facilities is irrelevant.

I  do not think the excellent facilities  at creasy park generate  any  income  other  than  gate money for  Afc  as the local council  own  everything  and  maintain the  facilities  and keep revenue  from  bar etc,  afc"s budget  must be generated from within the  club

Spot on, we get no income from Creasey, we even have to pay to play there and that includes our 30 odd youth teams as well.

It's never the favourites that win the league in ssml football. I think Berko could sneak in and win the Prem, quietly going about their business. But out of the two 'favourites', I think AFC over London Colney.

Div 1, again, not going with the favourites. It'll be Southalll all day long, not Edgware.

Div 2, there is literally a team in there called Clean Slate FC, so nobody cares.
