Very good performance again tonight and well in control against a Burnham side who on tonight's evidence will probably finish upper mid table in the league below.

Game finished 6-2 with Putman x 3, J Parsons x 2 and Scott Harris

Burnham scored after about a minute (I missed it so can't comment), this then woke us up and got us going playing some good football. Jake Parsons and Chris Henry dominated their full backs and got in behind with ease. It didn't take long before Jake got past his man and put in a cross for Putman to tap in. Later on in the first half Jake held off the full back and struck a well hit half volley into the near-side top corner. Smith went off just before half time replaced by Scott Harris. Second half we came out having brought on Jeffreys for Hollis in defence, Macdonald on for McClurg in midfield and Callum Webb on for Henry playing on the right with Jake being sent out to the left. Burnham played some good football at times in the second half but we were still in control and put away another four goals with Putman finishing his hat-trick for the game. Burnham did score a concelation goal with some good play on their right wing with the resulting cross being finished nicely. The Burnham goal was deserved for their good play but we were never in doubt when it came to the final result.

My MotM wold go to Jake Parsons. Right now he is full of confidence and playing somewhere near his very best, he is always looking to receive the ball and either run at the defence or put a cross in. When he is confident like he is now he is an absolute joy to watch.

For me Chris Henry must be first choice left wing, Warren Harris is going to have to be back to his best when he comes back to get in ahead of Jake who is playing some great football right now.

Burnham would struggle in our league so they are not a true test but it is going to be hard for the managers to pick a final squad as everyone is playing well and the whole team have a good understanding. The only player for me who might get dropped is Dan Read but even then he would be unlucky as he hasn't had much chance with injuries. Smith, Putman and Harris are all on form and staking their claim to start so it would be hard for Read to get a look in.

If we carry on in the season playing like we are then the season will be very enjoyable !!!

First look at the team last night and whilst I never get too carried away with pre-season, we looked very lively and played some nice stuff going forward in particular. Of the new players, obviously Lewis Putnam stood out with some excellent movement and finishing. I wonder how he might fare up against the Michael Walker's of the division but we'll soon find out. He looks to have struck up a good understanding with Jake Parsons who was outstanding.

Good signs heading into what will be a tough season.

As has been said, another good performance............all who started and those who came on later played well with Jake Parsons outstanding. Good to see Searsy get some game time, looking quite assured again.

We have a raft of good midfielders now........hard to see which may have to be left out of the squad.....some strong opinions around the ground as to which two or three players may be surplus but also sympathy for the managers who have to make the call

Interesting couple of weeks ahead.

Certainly agree that, as it stands, our Managers will have a very difficult task in deciding who's in the squad and who's not.

I did hear that we will possibly be running with a bigger squad size this season which should make their task just that little bit easier.

Just to clear a few things up, so far every player that is currently on the squad list on the main site has signed southern league forms for us for the season.

We will  have to dual sign a few with other clubs if we do not pick up injuries etc, to keep people fit and playing, but this is currently our squad for the 2015/16 season, there are no plans to bring anyone else in.

Currently 23 players listed then, is this likely to be the final number or will this be cut?

also will Ben Edwards be likely to play as often as last season or will he take up more of a coaching role as I think he was hoping to do last season until the injuries mounted up?

I think 2 will go out on long term loans, and then we have Foulser who is still out injured, which leaves us at about 20.

As I mentioned some of those may get dual registered also, but we will see how we go with injuries etc.

Ben is still very much part of the playing plans, he is perfect for us, as he is a fit lad, who can not play for a few weeks then come in and do a job, in our opinion he was one of our better performers when he played last year, and I know it is his intention to play as much as he can, however he is also happy helping us out on the coaching side.

Nice to have plenty of options especially with Adam Foulser and Adrian Sears to come back properly. Both easily good standard Premier division players that are worth persevering with. Just hope they both can recover fully.

The squad's showing plenty of promise early doors, so most of the fans should be optimistic and raring for the season to get underway.

Agree completely, he was excellent on Tuesday. I said at the start of last season that Jake needed games and we'd see the talent that we know he has. Last season was probably the only season he has been with us where he has played the majority of games. We're now seeing the rewards of a fit Jake that we never got to see during the Bateman era.

I think it's fair to say that Jake has had his fair share of injuries which probably hampered any progress he made in getting himself anywhere near full fitness.

The type of game he plays I think he's always likely to get clobbered and pick up knocks.

On Twitter,I noticed Unders is practising his man-management skills and has a charm offensive going on with the Parsons brothers ! :D

No offence Jake or Ryan but it did make me chuckle. Think Jon and I must have gone to the same charm school !
