THE REFEREE'S A BANKER !!!!

Recommended Posts

It's 12.30am. We've seen the game on the box.

I think we can be satisfied that the Hornchurch fans' views are quite correct. Absolutely Never a push by Vinny; in fact there was more shoving from the Tranny defender.

What do the Trannies have to say about it now...be honest.

And no, we're not sour losers. Don't mind losing to other teams, just not to referees.

I'm sorry but honestly both decisions were far from clear cut, Vinny John's arm was all over Tyrone Loran and did impede him from getting to the ball so it is a foul.

But as Mark Lawrenson said, Shearer has scored lots of goals like that.

The penalty is more debatable from the two angles that MOTD showed it.

From the behind the goal view which was probably closest to the view that the ref had it looked as if he just jumped in the air.

The side on view, Tyrone's leg comes forward and it looks like there is contact and a penalty but the Hornchurch player practically Fosbury Flopped making it so difficult to call.

Telford got the luck today, you didn't.

If it was so 50-50 as you claim, should it have been disallowed? Personally, I've taped the match and still can't see a foul. I was right behind the goal and didn't see anything then!

You're probably right about the penalty decision. Refs don't like theatrics, but then it was still a foul. There's the rub...

And yes, well done Telford.

Sorry to be a pain in the rear about this - I'm not a ref - I don't know the rules of the game to the nth degree.

But surely the foul on a player is at the initial point of contact? The point where the instep catches round the ankle - that is where the foul takes place. What happens afterwards with the player is stuff that is happening AFTER the foul.

It's not the ability or inability of the player to stand or stagger, surely?

Otherwise it's like saying

"Well yes he was tripped, but it's not a foul because he fell over in an artistic manner"

I understood a dive to be when a player falls over & there is NO contact with another player.

He actually started making up the rules at one point. On the back pass one, he positioned the ball inside the 6 yard box. The rules state that no free kick can be placed inside the 6 yard box and you have to position the ball on the edge of the box, in line with where the offence took place!! What hope is there when the referee doesn't even know that!

I have been watching live football matches for more years than I care to remember. In all that time I have seen some shocking referee's. Saturdays ref took the biscuit though. It surely must have been his first time out! He did not have a [***!!***] clue! As Lord mentioned he seemed to make things up as he went along! He was inept and well and truely out of his depth. He is lucky that no one went on the pitch and tried to batter him!

Christ only knows what would have happend if i had managed to get a few Stellas in me before the game!

Lord, he was a inept twat whose arrogance belied belief. The semi circle the players formed at the end to clap him off was wonderful. When he booked Bradley Allen, I bet it made his day- "Booked one of the famous Allen family today son!"

Is it not possible to show any common sense? The man was totally out of his depth, and I believe the BBC did the game a disservice but not showing some of his other (and there were many) dubious decisions that so enraged the crowd. The free-kick he awarded Urchins for a supposed back pass was laughable.

That back pass one was a shocker. What made it even more laughable was the fact that he made us take the kick inside the six yard box, when the rules of football say that any free kick awarded within the 6 yd box must be moved back to the edge of the area, in line with where the offence took place.

I know we've taken the pee out of cheating Tranmere, but I think that even the Trannie team and Brian Little were embarassed by his display!

Good luck to Trannie, I sincerely mean that, I'd nearly always cheer on the underdogs.
