Farnborough v Slough Town PSF

Afraid so Glen!

It was only a week ago that we announced our signings and people commented on the large squad size. Now for our first friendly we are shorter on numbers than we would want to be for a first friendly.....welcome to non league management!

On the plus side we have a number of players in great condition at the moment and they will enjoy their 90 mins tomorrow while there are others we will be more cautious with.

We've had 4 hugely positive training sessions so far and despite a few short term issues Bakes and I are delighted with how things are shaping up.

Look forward to seeing a good number of Rebels over there tomorrow!

Reading the match preview there will be a few missing understandably but are we that short on numbers that a N. Baker has been drafted into the squad?

What are you talking about Glen??? great signing I heard, one of the managers was raving about N Baker the other day ;)

In all seriousness I would rather not have to come on (however might be able to do a 15 minute stint if called upon), but we are running light in terms of numbers defensively for the next couple of games with Sean, Craig and Billy away Foulser still on the comeback trail, plus Guy is also not available, so I will just be there in case of an emergency.

However we have drafted in Wooze for tomorrows game now, and he will start alongside Gary Macdonald at the back, so some real experience between the pair of them.

I'm intrigued.  Have Farnborough even got a full squad ?

On that 'other footy' site, it has been alleged that as of a week ago, only 4 players have registered and that they are struggling to get things together in the current hoo-hah !!

All will be revealed in due course Reading Rebel, however the link for the lad is not Macca, we have a good relationship with Tristan there, and he wants us to look at a lad, however an outside chance he may not be with us.

Guy is not available as mentioned above (he was when I sent the squad update over), also we shall just get through tomorrow and sit down and talk with Callum further.

Won 4-0 very comfortably against to be fair poor opposition. We were in first gear and never had to up it playing mainly a team of trialists of whom none impressed. The playing surface was in top condition and we did enough without breaking a sweat on a warm afternoon. IMO Big Mac, Mark Scott and Callum Webb impressed. There was panic on the sidelines when sub N. Baker had to quickly warm up but after a few yards broke down absolutely knackered and his long awaited return will have to wait just that little while longer...

Very comfortable win today.

The new signings all looked decent, the keeper has got one hell of a kick.

Macdonald scored the first from a corner, Ben Edwards showed some great pace to get in behind for the second (though it only went in thanks to a deflection from the keeper), Third goal was a penalty from Ed Smith and the fourth was a very cheeky tap in on the line, after stopping the ball just short, again by Ed Smith.

Farnborough were very clearly building a team from scratch and just taking a look at potential players, every time they made a sub players had to change position.

No injuries for us though Wooz was caught off guard when his shot rebounded off the defender and back into his face.

There will be much harder games to come and we will be tested more.
