Dagger03
First match - ILFORD away. Kick off at 2 pm (two - not three pm). Venue is Robert Clack Leisure Centre 3G. It is in Gosfield Road, Dagenham - the match is not being played at Ilford's own ground. Go past the old Ford Utd ground, then past the now demolished Wood Lane Sports Centre, past the golf range, and then turn right into Gosfield Road. cup of tea
It ended up being either 3-0 or 4-0 to us depending on your perspective. Our first 'goal' was both offside and went over the bar but the ref gave it ????? The laughs from the Hornchurch fans should have given the ref a hint. 3 definite goals for us. Some useful performances there, very encouraging, think there's a few players for Jimmy to consider. Ilford were definitely up for it as well so it made it a properly competitive game. Dagger03
We confirmed the score at the interval. I thought the ball had gone over the bar, and I also thought there was an offside in the build-up. I think the lack of a linesman may have been a partial cause of the confusion. There was also a mix-up in the booking of the pitch, as London Bari were meant to play WItham Town at 3 pm - but they had to wait another hour before their game could begin. I was very impressed with the playing surface - far superior to that at Maidstone.
