MeadowEnder
From Chesham United website, announced yesterday: http://www.cheshamunited.co.uk/news/reserves-management-150615 Chesham United have appointed Joe Sweeney as new Reserve team Manager for their Spartan South Midlands League Division One team. Joe has been managing at Berkhamsted FC for the past four years with their Reserves and development team, and brings Paul Copson with him to get the job underway. First team Manager Andy Leese was pleased to welcome Joe on board: "We needed to get this appointment right as we continue to develop the young talent at the club. Joe fits the bill perfectly having worked with young players all his career, and he knows where we want to go with the pathway we have for young players at the club. "Joe is enthusiastic, well organised and knows the local scene well. It's a demanding job, but he's shown in the last few days that he will work hard to get it right. We will continue to find the best local talent, and Joe understands the relationship we have with both Queens School and our new Chesham United Academy. "Martin Loakes will continue his role managing the U18s with John Lawford. There is a lot of experience and knowledge amongst the Management team now and young players should be looking at the club as the one to choose to develop their game. I am looking forward to getting started with them all."
OD's
An excellent appointment for Chesham. Really surprised that Berkhamsted did not offer something similar, might have something to do with pulling their Under 18's from the Southern Counties Floodlit League.
