Injured players

Recommended Posts

Three of them all good, RR, one remains a slight concern.

Foulser, Warren and Clurgy will all begin full training with the rest of the squad when we start again on July 2nd.

Searsy has been doing straight line running with no real issues but reported that 'something just didn't feel quite right still' with his ankle so has had a further scan. He gets the results next week when he returns from holiday so we will have to see what we learn from that and will post an update as soon as we know.

The injuries like Searsy has got are the worse to have.

If you can't find out exactly what the issue is you can't treat it effectively and your treatment could have no affect or make things worse.

Good luck on the scan results and for a speedy recovery afterwards

Wasn't Searsy diagnosed with a chipped bone?

Any news on Searsy's scan results?

The situation with Searsy's ankle is not proving to be completely straight-forward.

The chipped bone has not healed quite as expected although it's shown improvement and there are no suggestions that it won't heal fully.

He has seen an ankle specialist who was relatively happy with what Searsy could and couldn't do and he has the go-ahead to start training with us this week although we will need to take care with him and build up his training more gradually than the others as we assess if there is anything he is unable to do.

Unfortunately the ongoing issues Searsy has had in this area over time does mean he has a weakness there and if he does hit a problem when training then surgery would be the only solution but we hope this will not be the case.

So not straight-forward like I said but hopefully this explains where we are with him at the moment.

Thanks for the update on Searsy, Unders.

As there isn't a lot of team news at the moment,I thought I would comment on Tom Moran and Reece Yorke's departures. If I was a manager in the Central Division I would look to employ both of these players.

Both of these can count their selves unlucky to be let go of,as Bakes alluded to in a local newspaper.

I'm particularly disappointed to see Tom leave but understand our managers decision. Currently Bakes and Unders need to establish an experienced, well run defensive back line and can ill afford to take a chance on a novice,in such a key area as centre half.

I thought Tom did a good job at the start of the season pushing Sean Fraser for a place in the team at right back but come the end of the season,Tom did look a bit shaky in that position.

I hope a decent manager come coach, takes Tom under his wing,as I think he will go from strength to strength,if he gets the right support and belief. This is often the make or break of a player.

Totally agree.

Tom Moran is young and inexperienced but with another couple of years at Div 1 standard IMO he will be ready for the step up.

Reese Yorke IMO started last season along with Dobbo a contender for player of the season. For some reason, maybe inexperience crept in, his performances tailed off and as the stats show, we started leaking goals for fun. It has to be said that Reese wasn't alone and collectively other players have to take some responsibility for us shipping so many goals.

Again a good young player who will only get better with experience and will be a very good signing for whichever club he goes to.

I thought Reece or Reese [whatever his first name is?] Yorke's game tailed off when Billy Jeffery's arrived on the scene.

Technically gifted and as experienced as Billy is,I thought our manager's boobed a bit when they rushed him straight into the line -up.Easy to say after the fact,I know !

Understandable that Bakes and Unders snapped up Billy, when he became available, especially as there had been a dip in form of the Slough side at that time.I certainly don't blame the results around that time at Reece's door,as he had been excellent and had formed a good understanding with Guy Hollis.

My point though is, that we somewhat undermined their partnership by bringing Billy straight in.To me,Billy called the shots to early.Yes,he is captain material and had proved that at Hampton and Richmond fc but he should have had to gain the trust and the respect of his new Slough team-mates before waltzing straight into the team in my opinion.

Only my opinion but it is what it is.

I believe Billy Jeffery's was/is a good signing by our management duo but so far,he hasn't quite lived up to expectation.Let's hope for better from him this season.

To me Reece Yorke lost focus and heart, when Billy Jeffery's arrived for whatever reason. The way last season panned out for him,it's no surprise to see him leave our fold.

Thanks for the constructive feedback 3spirit!

Billy joined and made his debut at Cambridge when Guy had got injured. He played alongside Reece for the next 5 games when they were the only two fit centre backs that we had.

....but why let the truth get in the way of a good story! ;)

No need for you to get your knickers in a knot,Unders. I'm fully aware of the statistics, too.

Truth depends on the angle you are at. You're on the inside,I'm not.

I maybe talking claptrap to you and many other fellows but it is how I see it. I've been known to be wrong before! lol !

However,I stand by what I wrote.

Roll on when we can talk about our new signings, then we won't have to talk about the past !

Being starved of anything Slough Town football related ie ground and players, leads to discussions like this !

Having re-read the full statistics of the line-ups throughout the season in my Legends programme,I appreciate what you are saying,Unders but do they tell the whole story?
