Liam Hope
I’d just like to take the opportunity to follow in my good friend Mark Kirby’s footsteps and also bid farewell to everyone at Enfield Town Football Club. Having joined the club back in 2009, I could not have imagined the fantastic memories and friendships I would go on to create through my time at the club and there are too many to list. ETFC is a unique club in so many ways and the support I have received from everyone at the club continuously during my time has been unbelievable. I have been able to achieve some great team and personal milestones, all of which I will always cherish and be proud of. Regrettably, it is now clear that it is time for me to look for a new challenge as we move in to a new season. The club has continued to progress every year that I have been at the club and I’m sure with the backing of such fantastic members and supporters this will continue long in to the future. I’d like to thank everybody at the club who have made the past 6 years such an enjoyable club to play my football for including all players, kitmen Les and Neil for always looking after me, volunteers, managers, sponsors, supporters and Ultras. Enfield will always be the result I will look out for first on a Saturday evening and I am honoured to have played a small part in the history of what I believe to be the best non-league club around. See you all soon and good luck for the new season. Hopey
townerboy
Cheers Liam. you'll be missed mate. A Town legend. When you were playing, I pretty much expected you to score every time. Good luck wherever you go to
Chase Side Towner
I'll echo what Townerboy says. A true club legend, and the goal to get the scoring record will long live in the memory. You'll be missed (if only because the IQ in the dressing room will drop significantly )

Enfield United
I think you'll find CST's comments being one of banter and humour, spend 5 minutes with some squad members and you may be able to relate to his comment. Nonetheless, our loss will be someone else's gain. Liam's contribution will live long in the memory of every Town supporter in the foreseeable future. Liam will be missed on and off the pitch. Good Luck
Eastside Urchin
Enfield United,I think you will find Big JRs comment was tongue in cheek lol

OldTowner
Best wishes Liam. Fantastic memories. One of the True Towner's and a massive part of the Club's short history. Players come and go, some are forgotten, others never forgotten. We all know which camp Liam is in. A new beginning with some new players coming in, to replace former Stars. The Club moves on, we hope to bigger and better things as we progress,

Tom S
Thanks for everything Liam. Particularly all the photos of the strange positions your fingers take when you concentrate.

billericayboy28
Billericay Town sign Joe Ellul, fair play to him for wanting to join a bigger and better club
Enfield United
Haha bigger being the prerogative description. Joe was alright A decent lad and player but 4th choice CH TBH good luck to him
lovely stuff
If Kirbs hadn't got injured near the end of the season,Joe wouldn't have featured at all.But he did do well when given his chance.
Enfield United
I just read his managers comments that 'conference ' clubs were chasing him, I find that somewhat far fetched. But yes he covered Kirby very well, Ryman Prem is his level but struggles against pace. Hey ho good luck to him
Mr Irony
The irony is that if Ellul hadn't made the centre half position his own, you would have kept Kirby.
vauxhallman
Nice way for the player to repay our club after we managed to get his red card overturned. Thanks Joe maybe you and Billericay deserve each other.

But yes he covered Kirby very well, Ryman Prem is his level but struggles against pace. Hey ho good luck to him Agree with you EU. Claudio was constantly telling Joe to hold his position in every game the two of them played at the end of the season. Joe has a tendency to 'follow the ball' when his team is attacking, not paying much attention to where he strays on the pitch and leaving big gaps between him and Claudio. lovely stuff
The fact remains that we have lost two options to play alongside Claudio.Do we have a third option already at the club? Or will we need to sign a new center back? (could Ryan Doyle go back to playing there for instance?)
The Crowing Cockerel
I'm certain Brad has everything in hand. What's happening with Whitely and Devine? A great coup if they're playing for Town next season.
