Smudge
Think the F.A. need a rethink regarding promotion from Step 5. Two Step 5 Leagues,Northern Premier,Eastern Counties, had no Clubs promoted this year.Which created reprieves for 2 Step 4 Clubs.Surely a better idea would be to promote the 2 second placed Clubs in the other Leagues Step 5,on a p.p.g.basis.It's hard enough with 1 promotion spot as it is,but it seems many CLUBS HAVE NO AMBITION to progress at all. I think that is unfair Smudge. All clubs have ambitions, irrespective of how high they are. For some, it is to, simply, survive. I do agree that the system need changing, rather like E & E Rich has already stated. The Northern league rarely promotes with clubs citing extra travelling costs etc. (Perhaps like many CCL clubs they are happy in their own league)? The question remains is should that league be at step 5 or 4?
Chris Clapham
....and this from a Spennymoor fan "0 or 12? you hardly get any coming up at all from the Northern League so that wont change at all - they don't want to take the chance at going higher up - Newcastle Blue Star, Durham City (dropping back to the NL), Spennymoor United are the examples why maybe NL clubs don't want to take that step up because it could be the death of them or take relegation back into the NL just to save them". Swifty
Going off piste slightly re step 5, Horsham have been allocated to the SCFL. I can only guess that AFC Hayes have been allocated to the SSML but I can't find anything concrete.

lazarus
We are still waiting for further info from the FA regarding any lateral movements esp any that will effect Step 6. As soon as we have their "final" information, the Board will decide next season's constitution and in response to an earlier question, yes, I am extremely keen that we should have an even number of clubs, ideally in both divisions, but certainly in the Premier. We are well aware that everyone needs to know where they stand as soon as possible and the info will be communicated to clubs as quickly as we can.
