Slough Legends Game

Recommended Posts

The main rain is going across the midlands and missing the south today.

Very merky but pretty much dry

Same in central Surrey for anyone interested.

Good afternoon and great to see the legends.....maybe a lot slower than before but some of them still had lovely skills and touches. Nice to talk to many of them too.............even nicer that many of them remember us as well as we remember them. Star of the show was Delroy Preddie.......still fit and agile and making s0me great saves.

Very enjoyable day (and night!) out and good to see so many old faces - both players and fans. Great to see two of my favourite players from years ago in Trevor Bunting and Mark Fiore.

Wasn't the greatest first half but certainly an entertaining second half. It was my first look at Oscar Betts and I thought he did well up against some much bigger lads.

Hope it can become a regular event, certainly a lot of the players seemed up for doing it again.

Enjoyable afternoon and all the legends done their selves proud.Well done to them all.Great to see so many turn out.Pity we didn't get a few more supporters.Surprised the event wasn't mentioned in one of the local newpapers.

Thought Ryan Spencer still looked fit and probably stole the show.Does he play for anyone still?

As Stuntman Mark said great to see 'Billy' Fiore and Trevor Bunting in action.I bet they will ache today! As will a few others,I would imagine.

Really enjoyable day.

Thought the linesman was a bit dodgy though, how he missed that awful foul by wilko I don't know. That poor lad will never be the same.xx

I was under strict instructions from Kay not to penalise Wilko in any way!

200/250? sounds like a great crowd to me.

Be surprised if it were that many.

Great to see the players that turned out [quite a few cried off,I presume?] but the fans were somewhat muted in encouragement but understandable given the numbers and how everyone was away from the pitch side. That said, as a one off spectacle and how the game turned out,I'm sure most fans had an enjoyable time.I know I did.

Well done to all who put the event together and those players and managers etc who turned out. They did the club proud.

Good to see a photo and a featured letter by John Tebbitt on our Legends game in the NLP today although he forgot Adam Martin on the currents player that played although that may have been down to space available.

Also on the letters page was a spot on piece by Steve Cumber on Farnborough's plight and that of cva's. I'm presuming he's our 'Steve Cumber' who so eloquently writes for our programme on occasion.

Both articles worth reading.
