Grassroots
Congratulations to Keith Hills on being appointed Manager on a permanent basis at Knaphill FC. A great end to the season with a 13th place finish in his first season at this level. Fourth bottom in the first season would have been good enough to stabilise things and move forward season by season. The players were 100% together when it mattered and the pressure was on. Most players would not have been used to playing so many games in a season which will stand them in good stead for next season. A couple of additions plus the return of a fully fit Charlie Postance next season will hopefully see further progress in trying to better 13th place. All the squad deserve praise but in my opinion Josh Watkins had a great second half of the season, Yassa Kubuye was a great signing who added quality and goal scoring and Dan Thorogood made a massive impression in the final few games. All the best for next season.
doughie
congrates keith we all know the players will all be chuffed. its not where you are at the start, middle, but the final whistle of the final game.we have hopefully learnt in both winning and losing against really fine sides. but one thing keith does bring to the table is honesty with superb people skills. too come in half way through the season and have what ever budget stopped and training slashed to 1 hour a week the day he takes the reigns deserves a little respect, as some guys on this forum have found how differcult it is. Clementintime
Interesting it's been announced/decided so soon after the season has finished. Still not 100% sure this is the right way to go but will leave it up to the club to decide what's best. I'm sure there are people out there gutted to not have had an opportunity to discuss the position with the club, lets hope it's the right decision. We desperately need to keep Watkins and Kabuye. We need to strengthen alot in other areas to ensure we can compete next season. Come on you Knappers.
doughie
knappers 2 as you rightly said in a previous post which may have pushed the club to early announcement so theres the continuity needed to plan ahead for pre-season. And agree again yes josh watkins from january performances were massive and im sure he will stay as keith bought him to the club, Im also sure additions will be made once the club decides what funds if any are available to keith. I would like to thank you on behalf of the management team for your support through the year we need more like yourself.
