Ilford lost at home to Basildon in the Essex Thameside Trophy last night.

We made 9 changes from the same side that have played over the last 6 weeks.....but I'm not gonna make excuses......although we did have four 16 year olds playing....

It was a very poor game...Ilford went one up in the frist half...good goal actually......Basildon equalised just before half time with an even better goal....A volley in the top corner...! Our groundsman in goal didn't have a chance...

Second half...Ilford were the better side..ghit the post and made some good chances but Basildon nicked a last minute winnere after a mistake from a set piece.....

Well done Basildon.......A draw would have probably been a fair result......

Two defeats in two games....panic..? Doubt it very much
