Swifty
It looks like we’ll finish third in the table after last night’s result, which saw Cove lose 4-2 at Guildford City, who move up to fourth from bottom. Cove now need to beat Hanworth Villa away by 13 goals on Saturday to knock us out of the ‘medal placings’. No easy task, as Villa need at least a draw to stand a chance of avoiding the drop, assuming only two go up and down at most. If Villa win or draw, and Chertsey Town lose at Bedfont Sports, then Chertsey will be praying that Worcester Park clinch the final CCL1 top three spot, as that may well mean just one team promoted (and one relegated) due to ground gradings. Following our blistering start to the season, when we were very unlucky not to go top at any stage due to Cove’s form, it was a bit of a shame that our form for the remaining 28 league games (47 points) was equivalent to fifth place in the table, but Cove’s form dipped even more than ours as soon as they announced they weren’t applying for promotion. In fairness, though, this season was a steep learning curve, and third place in a difficult division is a fine result. Well done, lads. Going off tangent, I hope the management insists that, if our lads insist on wearing coloured boots next season, they match our kit better, like these little beauties…. http://www.umbro.com/en-gb/shop/velocita-pro-hg-football-boots/

Swifty
Not counting my chicks before they're hatched. (Very slight pun there on your local team's nickname!)
Tel
It's only the GOLD MEDAL that counts, SILVER and BRONZE count for nothing. It's tough getting promotion from step 5. Guernsey were lucky a few seasons ago when for one season two were promoted due to expansion at step
