Is Bradley being tapped up?

Typical that Braintree are looking for new manager at present !! :thankyou:  As i feel that is the only club that could maybe tempt Brad at this point, seeing he has strong ties with them.

What with Brad's exceptional start to his managerial career i've always felt that we need to get promoted to keep him. (and the likes of Corey and McDonald).

Would love to see Brad achieve progress with Town rather than having to go to other clubs to gain progress through the leagues.I personally think that Brad and Town are both equally ambitious and could climb and achieve success together.

I should think that the only chance we have of keeping hold of Brad and Corey is if we get promoted. Even then, it might be a long shot.

Hasn't there been talk of the Brimsdown management team coming on board (with Brad) over the summer? They seem to have an eye for a player (Devyne, Gabriel...) and would, no doubt, retain connections with Brad IF he moved on to bigger and better things.

IF Corey was approached by a club higher up the pyramid over the summer would Town stand to get anything for him or will the contract have expired?

All in all, I'm much much happier being where we are with one game to go this season than where we were this time last year!

Go on the Town!!!

Nothing will surprise me however, I don't think Bradley is going anywhere unless its an attractive contracted job, especially if we go up. He is settled, knows who he is dealing with and has been very successful since the New Year. In fact outstanding.

We are a progressive club where the right young manager can make his for the next 20+ years, just like the fella at Wealdstone.

All our club needs is a FA Cup run to at least the 1st Round, be on TV and we'll be set up with capital to invest and develop our facilities.

Our structure has immense potential to be not only successful but successful the right way, i.e working within a strict budget, It would be great to be in a position we could pay those who give so much voluntary time into the club, they are the first people I would always toast with any success.

Could be a fantastic couple of weeks coming up v Witham, 2 Play Off ties, a cup final and 2 U21s Cup finals too

  • 2 weeks later...

What's more important - keeping the manager or staying in the play offs?

Keeping Brad is more important..If he goes,he will no doubt take the best two or three players with him,and we will be back to where we were before he became manager.

I'm sure Lee Harding as a long term Enfield supporter will not try to take our manager. Also,i personally feel that we are a club on the rise and will continue to do so.Not sure i would say the same of Braintee.

You'll excuse the pessimism, but non-league football is not a happy, shiny place for me at the moment.

I sincerely hope I'm wrong, but I predict the following...

Given the points deduction and loss of the play-off place I now fully expect Brad to leave Town in the coming weeks - probably for Braintree (despite their fans being unconvinced on the forum). He will want to further his managerial career and a move up the pyramid to a club he served for many years will be too good an opportunity to refuse. I expect he'll hold off on the move for a few weeks so as to allow the dust to settle a bit at Town. Leaving now would simply be a case of kicking us when we're down.

Then, over the summer I'd expect to see the likes of Corey, Bobby, Stanley & co also drift off to Braintree.

All such a shame, because you had the feeling that Brad was starting to build something at ETFC.

Lets hope I'm completely and utterly wrong.

Maybe reverting back to the side we were for the previous few seasons with not be a tradegy, but it will be hard to watch..Make no mistake,if Brad goes,so do our best players and we could well revert back to the bottom 8 side we were for the previous seasons before this one.The young fans will also drift away.Only a very fortunate and inspired new managerial appointment will prevent this..For me,that why it is absolutely vital Brad stays and finishes the job.

Blimey. So much negativity. Let's see what happens. If he goes, then let's look forward positively to the next appointment. Who is to say we cannot rise up the table again.

Andy, its tough to be anything but negative after the events of the past week. It feels a little like we've been relegated.

I can understand being negative about what has happened, but every club goes through change and if, and I repeat if, Bradley and some players leave, then it will be up to the board to bring someone else on board who can hopefully move the club forward. Let's just see what happens.
