Another publication on my hate list is The Sun, never do they mention Radiohead, one of this country's best music exports.

 

Sure Robbie can't sell a disc in the USA, Radiohead's Kid A beat Madonna. But yet Robbie makes the news because he's a bit gobby and he can do a decent live performance of his below par selection of songs.

 

Yet in the Sun Readers top 100 list of songs are Paranoid Android and Creep, next day you see a piece on Radiohead. W++kers. The bottom line is that pop is mostly over manufactured, over marketed and bought by gullible children, but the Sun still peddle the same s++t every issue.

 

Sorry, been storing that bitter rant up for a bit.

I also don't know why you keep refering him as a fat dancer. He was never fat in Take That, and most certainly isn't fat now. He did put on a lot of weight in 1995/1996 after he left Take That, but he has most certainly lost all of it now.

Musically, Robbie Williams does not get involved with the songwriting. He basically writes some lyrics, Chambers plays around with them a bit and adds a tune.

 

Gary Barlow. Indeed nowhere to be seen, although I believe he is still writing for current boy- and girl-bands.

Chambers wrote the whole lot, trust me!

 

As for Barlow he's sitting on a pile of cash the size of Robbies but had to work about a third as long to get it!

Because good music stands the test of time, there was plenty of rubbish in the old days as well but we've forgotten them. Modern music both good and bad is in our faces now, I like plenty of modern stuff but I also know a few artists who are popular now and will be forgotten very very quickly!

ZEAL- Yep, got the package yesterday morning, I just didn't have time to come on here and tell you. Haven't read them yet, but I think I'm gonna start with the one about drugs as it looks very interesting. And I never realised how handsome the Gallaghers looked in suits! In fact that cover is very reminiscent of the Beatles one, don't you think?

I read the Q 1001 best songs ever and there are some rather strange entries. How the f..k did Justin Timberlake get in there? Sorry Claire but he is not deserving of a song in a top 1000 poll of best songs.

 

The Darkness I notice also had an entry. Great band with some brilliant songs but do they dserve to be in the top 1000?

 

How the hell did Eminem get into the top 10?

 

As for the number one song, U2's 'One' is a superb song but is it the greatest song ever?

 

As for the omissions, no sign of Guns N Roses' Sweet Child O' Mine or November Rain or Duran Duran's Ordinary World.

 

I would have put these in a top 1000 but I suppose others might think differently.

Ok - hang on - slow down.

 

Someone said that this poll (the one won by 'One'!!!) was voted for by Sun readers.

 

But the 1001 Best Songs ever (in the Q Magazine) was certainly not voted for by Sun readers.

 

I think someone's got a little confused. The Sun may have published the Top 100 of this chart, but it had nothing to do with their readers.

 

Unless there are two different lists? I'd just doubt very much that U2 would've topped both of them.

No they didn't I think it was Bohemian Rhapsody for the Sun, anyway I was just cussing them, sorry to have sent things off kilter!
