Tango Man
A pleasure to be at Southall last night with a friendly welcome a 6-1 home win including some cracking goals and a game played in the right spirit and well officiated in the main though the ref nearly claimed an assist for Chesham when he got in the way of a Southall clearance First half was pretty even with Southall going in 1-0 up. Dom had a couple of hairy moments with some iffy footwork, not helped by a couple of misplaced backpasses but atoned in the 2nd half with a good save low down from a free kick, a couple of good punches out and at least 1 body block (I think) Southall turned the screw in the 2nd half with some quality finishing though a mainly young Chesham side never stopped trying and got a consolation goal at 5-0 Headcount of about 40 and most of them went home happy. Nice to say hello to SB of this parish as well
Savagebee
Southall 6 Chesham United Reserves 1Yep that was a pleasure to watch yesterday and as TM said the game was played in the right spirit.I thought Chesham started the first half the better team but after Southall scored there first goal and a very good finish it was by the Southall Number 2 who scored another goal in the second half I thought he had a very good game I think his name was Billy ? Southall then took control and finished the first half the better team. The second half was all Southall with ex Hanwell Town player J.Todd coming off the bench to score two goals.J.Ward (Ex Brentford Reserve Player) also came off the bench to score and looked good every time he got the ball but when he didn't have the ball his body language wasnt the best it had that I don't really want to be here look about it or im to good for this league look about it but I was told that he hadn't played much up till he joined Southall so maybe he is just not fit but there is no doubt that he could be a very good player if he gets his mind and fitness right.I did see J.Ward having a little chat with a coach from another local team who play in a higher league just before half time hhhhhhhhhhmmmmmmmm............Lots of good performances from the Southall players yesterday I thought the left back Number 3 had a good tidy game and the little guy upfront looked good also good to see D.Cassells as capt and I could see how much Dom wanted the clean sheet yesterday he looked like he had lost the game when the Chesham goal went in to make it 5 1.A much needed and deserved win for Southall FC
domcassells
Billy Fraser. On dual reg with chalfont St peter. Another coming back to full fitness. Yes was disappointed not to get the clean sheet our defending deserved. But very happy with the win which was needed and always an honour to wear the armband. Good stuff Dom yep the defence were very good yesterday. J.Hopla is growing in confidence with each game. E.Teberen keeps getting the goals for you guys he must have around 20 goals now this season. Southall FC Til I die
Agree with TM and Savagebee, I believe this Southall project has legs - and the manager is giving opportunities to a lot of young players to develop the understanding of the game at a senior level. That left back you mentioned for Southall has just turned 17, so you can see the huge potential. Both teams played some good combinations in the first half and it took a great strike from Billy Fraser to separate the teams. But in the second half Southall upped the ante and illustrated the form that i believe will make them contenders next season. Dom has been excellent between the sticks all season and deserved another clean sheet yesterday. As for the Jack Ward his talent is there, but now it will be a test of his attitude & commitment to get back his love for the game.. Southall is the right home for him and i am sure he will go from strength to strength.. The Vultures are always around especially as Southall are on an upward curve
