There was a certain section of your fans who came behind our goal to gloat and were blatantly looking for trouble, rubbing the scoreline in our faces, and unfortunately, a couple of our fans did not possess the self-restraint to turn the other cheek.

Well, that's what the guy said. And, with experience of "organised" stewards in the past, that is how they tend to behave.

 

The stewards at Clarence Park are the opposite. They may be a bit older and less likely to be able to respond to a serious incident, but they are friendly and inconspicuous, which may be why we never have any trouble. It's all about generating the right atmosphere.

 

It's a bit like pubs and bouncers. Bring in the bouncers and you attract trouble.

i was at the game last nite with my girlfriend and her mate and some of the crawly fans, were not exactly looking for trouble, but as zeal says, they were rubbing it in our faces

 

if that is what dr martins football clubs are like i hope we dont join the confrence

Wether the game is segregated or not, just coming into the other end is bang out of order, I mean if you can move behind the goal you shoot into why would you not unless you were looking to intimidate people!

If so we didn't actually know the two people concerned were St Albans fans until they started trouble. None of us were looking for trouble we were just celebrating scoring and taking the lead!!

No, for the 1st period of extra time me and a few mates (including the one the thug started on) went round to the other end where we scored our 2nd and 3rd goals.

Sam, some of your supporters at the opposite end at that time, were definately taking the p*ss. They seemed a fairly harmless bunch, but it could have got nasty.

 

I watched the footage of our goal from the link above and can't help noticing the two stewards diving in to spoil the celebrations.

 

I can only assume you have a few problems in the Dr Martins league.

Well obviously, you had come from behind the barrier and were in contact with the players which is not allowed, they were only doing their job by stopping you!!

No, not at all, our stewards though are the best in the league that is why they are quick to snuff out anything that could lead to trouble i.e your 2 supporters fighting.

Bloody hell, it happens in the Premiership when players come into the crowd when they score, so why on earth shouldn't it happen at your ground?

 

This is the first time, at any ground, we've ever been stopped coming to the front of the stand when we score.

 

I used to think Canvey had delusions of grandeur, but they had nothing on Crawley.

 

And at least Canvey will be in the Conference next season.

In the laws of the game that is not allowed and they should be booked and when you see players doing that stewards throw the players off the supporters.

thats nothing.. when the hooligans from st albans descended on to an unsuspecting canvey we only had 12 memebes of the spg to deal with them.. they then disgraced themselves by er singing and drinking and annoying the home fans with songs about candy floss and working in a warehouse.. having generated loads of intrest and one of those atmosphere things they then proceeded to further disgrace themselves by using that intrest to raise a load of cash for a sick kid.. ban the animals thats what i say.. oh hang on their own club did that..

EFM make a lot of friends at the football. Tad introduced himself to us a while back, and we've remained on friendly terms since.
