Hearing lots about Colney Heath from my Oxhey-based chums. One former Jet's player has applied with the promise of being able to sign Lewis Putnam if he can secure a £200 p/w wage for him. Would be very interesting if that did happen, a very big if, but Colney Heath have always had the money so it wouldn't be a complete shock.

Been excluded due to fielding an illegible player in their FA Cup fixture this season. At least that's what i have heard anyhow.

Stony fc will be in the market for a new manager next season too.

Seems Mursley are advertising also. Excellent opportunities at two good clubs. However, it does seem to be getting rarer for clubs to find Managers with the fortitude and vision to last longer than five minutes these days.

[not sure that was the case with stony..

Manager at start of season for offered job at the dons, Current manager took over mid season, was inexperienced and not fully supported..

Although it is strange how there is a change nearly every season at clubs. Not sure you can blame just the managers. So much goes on behind the scenes and in the stony instance. It the manager had the full support, I'm sure there would not be a change.

Think this is a little harsh on managers! More often than not (in my experience) inpatient clubs and fickle uncomimitted players have more than their fair share of influence on a manager's decision whether to stay or go.

Not having a go at Stony or Mursley as such, more a general observation. Must be hard for clubs to make the "right" appointment these days as Mangers ad players seem to move together. Hardly a recipe for building a club. Think you are spot on about fickle players Sam but it's all part of the game these days.

I wasn't referring to either Stony or Mursley necessarily in my comments either, just a general observation. Mursley have been pretty settled recently to be honest, think Tav had been in charge for 3/4 years at least.

Genuinely though, not sure anyone not doing it can understand the pressure of a modern day manager at this level, trying to deal with the lack of commitment of players. It is absolutely soul destroying at times.

Having been involved with clubs at step 5,6 and 7 in recent years, I have to say that, compared to the past, the level of commitment regarding training and availability is alarming for these levels. I think many clubs make the "error" of bringing in and relying on lower level or "village" players. As soon as things go pear shaped, they run for safety. A good youth policy would seems to be more important than ever these days.
